The 2004 Chevy Caviler is a great vehicle for getting from point A to point B. It has a good engine, looks great, drives smooth, and isn't all that expensive of a purchase to make if bought used. I have owned mine for over ten years now, and it still performs up to par to this day. All maintenance jobs can be done from your garage depending on the severity of the issue you have, and replacement parts can easily be found online if you find yourself in a sticky situation. This was the first car I have ever owned and overall is a great vehicle.
Story
One time, I had to take a road trip from Dallas to San Antonio for work. It was a fun experience, because I was able to utilize the great sound system for the trip and didn't even have to fill up until I got there!
Pros
The sport edition of this vehicle has a great look to it. The engine accelerates quickly, and as long as you change your oil, it should last many years. The interior is roomy and comfortable, and the stock sound system is spectacular in my opinion. Maintenance is easily performed yourself with this make, and all of the replacement parts that you would potentially need are easily purchasable from online vendors.
Cons
The fuel economy of this vehicle is not the greatest by any means but has a large gas tank. One tank of gas would last me about 300 or so miles one way but can be costly to refill. Since it's an older model, there is no indicators for low tire pressure, so make sure that your tires are always inflated properly. Not a whole lot of trunk space.

The 2004 Chevy Cavalier is reliable, however the interior and exterior is quite cheap. It falls apart all the time just due to the Texas heat. I've never had issue with the engine. It always gets me where I need to go. However, the interior is the problem. The plastic dashboard cracked due to the heat from the sun. The sunroof no longer opens. The side mirror is falling off. The body dents way too easily. The passenger seat is jammed forward and will not go back. The radio only works when 'it feels like it'. And the trunk only opens when 'it feels like it'. This is problematic for using the car to its actual potential. Yeah, it reliably takes me where I need to go, but having passengers in the car can be an issue, especially when their luggage needs to go in the trunk. The plastic arou... (more)
Story
I used to drive this car to high school everyday and it was a lot of fun.
Pros
The vehicle is reliable, the engine always gets me where I need to go.
Cons
The interior is cheap and is falling apart. The plastic dashboard and air conditioning vents are cracked and broken, the passenger seat is jammed forward, the sun roof no longer opens, the side mirror is damaged, the radio only sometime works, and the trunk only sometimes opens.

I purchased this vehicle for my company as a work truck. The dealership understood my need for a work truck and nothing more. They worked a great deal for my needs.
