This is a great, spacious SUV that isn't too large and drives like a smaller car. It is comfortable, stylish, and offers great mpg for the size. The experience has been a lot better than I had even hoped. You can tell that it's built to last.
Story
I drove up highway one all the way to San Francisco with a girlfriend. It was a warm evening and beautiful. A great way to break the car in.
Pros
It is extremely comfortable and easy to drive with great-viewing angles, The tech in the car is great with Microsoft SYNC, and it has all of the amenities that you would want in a modern vehicle in this price range.
Cons
A little bouncy on the suspension and the ride could be slightly more comfortable, but it's really just a nit pick of mine. Nobody else seems to be notice when I mention it.

The 2011 Ford Escape LTD, in my opinion, is a great car. I like the styling much better than that of the newer Escape. The interior is roomy and comfortable though not plush by any means. The seats, front and rear, have leather inserts and have been comfortable and durable the last 3 years of ownership. There is a fair amount of usable storage area behind the rear seat, which folds down, though not completely flat, for larger items. Instrumentation is right where you need it to be but the dash is a bit busy until you get used to where everything is. Fuel economy averages around 24 mpg (I live in a very rural area, so city mileage is meaningless since everywhere I need to go is at least 15 miles away). The 3.0L V6 Flex Fuel engine is very responsive (240 HP).
Story
I purchased a full-sized pickup truck within the last year. As the new vehicle under the carport, the pickup has been the primary vehicle being driven and the Escape has sat idle for long periods. One day I decided to take the Escape instead of the truck just to keep the battery charged. The Ford felt like a sports car: it was so much lighter and nimbler and responsive than the truck. I couldn... (more)
Pros
I like the exterior styling and the interior layout on this model a lot, much better than the newer model. I've had the car for a little over 3 years and 20,000-ish miles with only one problem that Ford fixed free of charge (replace the throttle body. Apparently this was a silent recall item). The car handles nicely for a SUV and is actually enjoyable to drive.
Cons
The only negative thing that comes to mind, and I only mention it because I'm asked to, is the automatic transmission, 1st gear in particular. Accelerating from stop, 1st gear engages with a noticeable lack of subtlety: one must learn to push the accelerator gently, very gently, to avoid the hard shift and jerk into motion. Once moving down the road, subsequent shifts through the 6 gears is smooth.

They were friendly right from the beginning of the process. They welcome you in and make you feel comfortable. Then they ask what you are looking for and let you get familiar with some of their most popular options. They made haggling east and gave an upfront price. Overall i was very satisfied at how they let me test drive every car model on the lot.

At the time, the dealer was willing to carry their own contracts. They specialize in vintage autos, usually selling on consignment. They clean, repair and detail every vehicle the put on the lot. I've purchased two cars through them, both for very good prices, with no problems. New vehicles are mostly overpriced junk, so I very much prefer to buy used cars.
