2002 Ford Explorer - LOVE this car!
Being from a family that pretty much ONLY buys Ford vehicles, I have had several different models throughout the last 35 years. Our Ford Explorer is one of my favorite vehicles I've owned! It is the perfect combination of car and truck in an SUV. It has served our family very well. With almost 150,000 miles, we have traveled on many long distance trips as a family in our Explorer. We have never had any issues. It has been a reliable part of our family.
It is a comfortable ride and has great storage space for our luggage, ice chest, and sporting gear. The luggage rack on top is another great option! To be able to put some of the gear, in case we want more space inside the vehicle, like, when our dog travels with us! He is a member of our family and loves to travel with us.

Love the leg and head room
Cons
Wish we had gotten the 3rd row seat
Wish it had no radio antenna (car wash hazard!)
2005 Ford Explorer - Great Little SUV
My experience with our Ford Explorer has been a pretty good one. To be honest, I'm not much of a Ford fan, but it was my wife's truck when we got married and it became our daily driver. We could do with a little better gas mileage out of it. Around town we usually get between 14-15 miles per gallon. On the highway, we usually get closer to 17-18. We have one of the 6 cylinder models and for the most part it has plenty of pep. The electronic shifting controls lag a little bit when you have to shift down more than 1 gear though. When getting on the freeway in a short distance, it can feel like the truck isn't moving when it's shifting, then it knocks you back into your seat once it hits the gear it's looking for. The 4wd works great. We regularly go up to Lake Tahoe to visit my wife's pa... (more)
Pros
It is very reliable and the 4wd works like a charm.
Cons
The cargo capacity when utilizing the 3rd row seats is next to nothing. The air conditioner also blows weak. It blows plenty cold, but just weak air pressure.

2011 Ford GT - Santa Monica Ford
Really attentive service with little to no pressure. Sales agent took the time to listen to my needs/concerns without seeming like he was just looking to close the deal.
