2012 Hyundai Veloster - I like the Veloster despite its rough ride, but the extras on the car are very nice.

My Hyundai Veloster is the 2nd of its kind that I've owned. I previously had the non-turbo version but after a car accident I purchased the turbo version. In the accident, a T-bone hit by a van on the drivers side, all the airbags deployed successfully and the car automatically called for help to assist. The safety features are great! In the turbo, the car has great pickup. Compared to the non-turbo, you can get up to speed very quickly on the highway. My Velsoter is a manual transmission so it's extremely easy to control your speed up progress. The digital display screen in the car is great for GPS and map tracking. It is very easy to see. The touch screen makes it very easy to navigate through the menus of the cars technical abilities. Since the car has sport suspension, it rides ver... (more)
Story
There are very few Velosters, so it's almost like a club you're in when you have this car, similar to bikers. You always look at the other person to see who is driving a car like yours.
Pros
It has a very unique look. The tech specs of the car are very handy. It has great speed.
Cons
The car rides a little rough going over bumps because of the sport suspension. For a tall person, it's a little low to the ground.

Small, quick and stylish, the Veloster looked like nothing else on the road when it was introduced in 2012. For months I was asked about my car at gas stations, and other Veloster drivers would honk when we drove past each other. I initially purchased the car because I needed something that made parking in the notoriously packed streets of South Philly a little easier. While my previous car was a Honda Accord and not a huge vehicle by any means, having a full-sized car proved to make parking a challenge more often than not.
Story
The uniqueness of the vehicle has led people who have seen me out more than once to speak up... or friends of mine to *know* that they saw me out and about, since there aren't a ton of Veloster drivers out there.
Pros
I bought a fully loaded Veloster for just a little over $24,000. The car came loaded with a back-up camera and back-up sensors, panoramic moon roof, a seven-inch navigation screen, a variable dual-clutch transmission, and Hyundai's Blue Link telematics. It was packed with technology that a number of higher end vehicles didn't even include in 2012. It's incredibly economical, with 38 highway miles per gallon.
Cons
One of the pros is also a con -- the size of the car is great for city living, but if you need to transport anything of size, you're out of luck. Getting a full-sized mirror that I purchased from IKEA into the back of the car was a challenge, even with the rear seats folded down. The car only seats four, which is one less than most cars with a back seat. The rear window is very small and occasionally limits visibility.
