The Jeep Patriot is a wonderful vehicle. It has a great fuel economy and drives incredibly smooth. The interior is great for outdoorsy people as it is very easy to clean. The back seats fold down giving you plenty of room. I like this feature because I am an avid biker and I have plenty of room for my bike and all my other equipment. The Patriot also handles well on and off road. In the mountains and the woods it does well in all terrains even for a 2 WD. The car also features copious amounts of leg room for all the passengers. No one is left feeling crammed in the car no matter where they decide to sit. The additional drop down speakers in the back are great for tail gating or just jamming around the yard. It is a great feature that Jeep installed.
Story
I have taken my vehicle off roading a few times and that was really fun.
Pros
The fuel economy, spacious back cargo area, easy cleanability, and smooth driving are what make this vehicle so great.
Cons
The only negative thing about this vehicle is that it does have electrical problems at times. The cruise control does not always function properly and occasionally the ABS lights come on for no reason other than a glitch in the system.

2011 Jeep Patriot - Great car for the price (and utilitarian).

The 2011 Jeep Patriot is great car at a great price for the right person. It is a wonderful small SUV for those who are utilitarian and will actually use the car. It is not a car for those who desire creature comforts on high end SUVs. It is durable and can stand up to a healthy amount of wear and tear. Standard maintenance such as tires/oil/wipers are inexpensive over the life of the car because it uses standard features as opposed to customized features. Overall, it has been a terrific vehicle for me and my needs. If you are looking to have something that is off the ground, has decent gas mileage, storage and seats a few people at a low cost, it could be for you as well.
Story
At one point in my life I fit everything in my life up in this vehicle. My rule was 'if it does not fit in the Jeep, it does not fit in my life anymore!'. It was fun because it held a ton for its size and help me prioritize possessions. Plus, this car was with me for major life changes.
Pros
For being a small SUV, it has a surprising amount of storage. I was able to fit a 6ft base cabinet and countertop into it by laying down the seat! The gas mileage was pretty solid for an SUV. The dash is well organized and easy to see all important data (MPH, RPMs, gas, alerts, etc.). It isn't overly flashy or complicated and I like that. There is no need to worry about occasionally putting things like small furniture, pets, etc. in the vehicle because it can easily hold up to those types of things.
Cons
The plastic console and interfaces, while durable, can sometime lead to squeaky rubbing against each other. This particular model doesn't have options for heated seat which are definitely a nice addition for winter. One of the largest negatives are the gauges: tire pressure and change oil. Anytime it gets below 50 degrees, the low tire pops on (it doesn't say which tire is low either) and won't go off unless heavily overinflated. The change oil doesn't always turn off after an oil change either. Multiple mechanics told me sometimes the switch doesn't read and they had to try several attempts.
