Great vehicle with a few quirks!
I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I love being able to drive down a country road with the roof and doors off on a hot summer day. I love the feeling of freedom that I experience when driving this vehicle. There are some squeaks that I hear on a regular basis, but my Jeep doesn't leave me stranded. It has a strong 4.0 Liter motor and seems like it will go forever.

Rugged.
Jeeps are notoriously tough, and the TJ line holds true to this mantra. My Jeep requires basic maintenance, and keeps going. The 4 cylinder engine I have is known as one of the best engines ever made. The suspension is fantastic, very durable, smooth ride. Very easy to work on, most engine components are on top of the engine and easily accessible with a basic mechanics set. Parts are easily obtainable, as many parts were used from 1997 - 2006. Going in and out of 4WD is easy, can do on the fly, auto locking hubs doesn't even require getting out of the Jeep to do so. The versatility of having a winterized vehicle to get around in the snow and ice, and also a "drop the top and ride around during the summer" make this an ideal vehicle to own for anyone. It's not a great family vehicle, and it's not safe from side collisions, and it can also roll into an accident. It also doesn't have much room, so it's not a great "grocery getter" or other transport vehicle. Gas mileage is comparable to a large truck as well, so it's not economical either.
