2012 Jeep Wrangler - A Fun All-Weather Car
My husband and I are huge Jeep fans and it was only a matter of time that I knew he would trade in our 2008 Sahara when the all new Altitude edition came out in 2012. I must say that the ride is way smoother and the complete redesign of the interior gives it a more sleek, sexy look. We opted for the marine-grade leather interior since it was the first time available in a Wrangler and boy are we glad we did. The red stitching gives the leather seats a nice polished, yet sporty look. We chose black for our exterior color again, even though we swore up and down that we would never buy another black vehicle since the pollen in the spring and salt in the winter make keeping black cars clean impossible. But when you see the matte black Altitude hood decal against the glossy mirror-like ... (more)

But when you see the matte black Altitude hood decal against the glossy mirror-like black paint, how can you resist??? This year was also the first year the Wrangler's roof was the same paint color as the body. I'm not a big fan of it because to me it looks too much like the H3 but my husband really loves it.
The first time my husband and I decided to take a trip to the beach...topless! I am by no means a "gym chick" so when my husband said that we were taking off the hard top roof along with the panels, I was instantly terrified. That thing is heavy! None the less, I put my big girl pants on and we did it. I will say that it was totally worth it. It was so cool driving down the highway jamming out with the wind blowing all around us. That is, until it began to pour down rain. Needless to say we got soaked. When we finally found an over pass to park under until the storm passed, well the storm had passed. We ended up just laughing about it, because what else could we do? We'll definitely never forget our first "topless" moment.
The marine-grade touch screen radio...finally! All of my cars have had cool touch screens and built in GPS for years and my husband just couldn't have it in his Wranglers...until now. The stock sound system really jams out too. The black rims with this edition was a nice touch. We ended up getting after-market rims and tires, but we got great money back for the stock ones.

Even though the ride in the 2012 is way smoother than the previous models, it's still not quite my cup of tea. But then again, it's a Jeep right? It's not really made for cruising the highways, it's made for getting out on some back roads and letting loose!

2012 Jeep Wrangler - Jeeps are for girls!
I love my Jeep Wrangler! When I bought it, I couldn't decide between a convertible or a 4x4, so I decided not to decide and bought a Jeep Wrangler instead. The one I bought has what's called a "Freedom Top" which allows you take off panels over the driver and passenger seats, if you don't want to take the full top off.
I usually keep the back seat of my 2 door Jeep Wrangler in the garage. But take note, that if you get the 2 door and plan on having people in the back seat, it's a tight fit to climb back there, and there is not a lot of leg room.

One year while living in Colorado, we had a big snow storm, and people were not prepared as it was early in the season. So, my son and I hopped in the Jeep and roamed the neighborhood looking for people who were stuck in the ditches from sliding off the road and pulled them out. It was fun coming to the rescue and hearing people say, "Maybe I should get a Jeep."

I absolutely love how sturdy this vehicle is. I've had it for five years, and it is still worth almost what I bought it for! I have had no major issues with it, and it still runs like a dream. I dig being able to sit high when on the highway, and I would like to add that the air conditioner and the heater work fast—no waiting in harsh elements waiting for the climate control to kick in. It responds very well, and I love being able to park it in places other cars can't get into, like on a snow bank or in rocks or somewhere that most cars just can't go safely. I use it for off roading as well but not as much as most would, I think.
A couple of warnings that I would tell my friends before they bought one though, would include that the steering is very sensitive, so it's easy to over correct in a situation where you're avoiding a collision or something. Also, the top gets very hot in the summer, and if the vehicle has been sitting in the sun a while, you could burn your hands taking the Freedom Top panels off. Also, in wet weather, the brakes can make a strange noise that would concern somebody who didn't know, "It's a Jeep thing."
