I have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport that I purchased used with 124k miles. I have had it now for a year an a half. The quality and dependability is outstanding. The 4.0L is a still a strong motor, even with the high mileage... nothing like that in-line 6. My previous Jeep (it was a Cherokee) had the same motor and I drove it for eight years before I traded it. My model is a 5 speed, which I love. I love the versatility of the Jeep. I have a hard top for winter and a soft top for summer. Cruising in the summertime with the top and doors off feels like complete freedom. On or off road and in any weather, it handles like a champ. The downsides are that is compact, so the 4 people that can fit are not very comfortable (next Jeep will probably be a 4 door Rubicon). Not real fuel ef... (more)
Story
Wheeling at Uwharrie (where it's "jeep" country) and most everybody is more than willing to help out a fellow jeep er if needed. Friendliest people on the planet own Jeeps.
Pros
I like being able to go anywhere and not worrying about getting stuck. Love that I can take off the doors and the top to let the wind blow through my hair.
Cons
It's not fuel efficient and it's not a very comfortable ride (for the passengers) on long trips.

I bought the Jeep Wrangler used with about 102,000 miles. It was a slate green Sahara trim model with multiple modifications placed by the previous owner. I purchased a from a Chrysler dealer and received a solid deal based on the resale value of Wranglers. The Jeep had a lift kit and 33" tires. The vehicle was fairly reliable, and I only ran into a few issues while I owned it. It was a great vehicle for off-roading and camping. I had a blast driving it down to the river and driving through the creek to get to hard to reach spots on the water. The downside was it was my only vehicle and was not fun to drive on the highway or to and from work. It was a very rough ride and had very poor gas mileage. With the added lift kit, the steering was very poor, and I ran into multiple steering com... (more)
Story
Driving to my local river through dirt road and traversing off road and through creeks.
Pros
Off-road capabilities, ruggedness, and torque.
Cons
Gas mileage, rough ride, steering issues, and moderate reliability.
