I liked the V6 engine it had. The engine was just strong enough yet saved a bit of gas. The cab had four seats but only two doors. The vehicle was similar to a Ford Ranger. I had the vehicle for years. The truck was dependable.
Story
I ended up driving it down creeks and bayous. I have taken it on many hill climbs.
Pros
V6 and cab size.
Cons
Suspension and steering.

First and foremost I should point out that when I purchased my Mazda B2300, it was the first time I was financing a vehicle. I was working with a very small budget. Based on this, it was an absolutely fine truck for the price, and my needs at the time. It didn't have much power, but gas mileage was good. There was only one previous owner who maintained it well and put in a spray on bed liner as well as an aftermarket stereo. By far, the biggest downside was that the truck, as well as the comparable truck (Ford Ranger) had been discontinued, making it difficult and/or expensive to maintain or repair.
Story
Although the truck was only two-wheel drive, it still did very well off road and was a blast to take out to hidden camping spots.
Pros
For a truck, it was nice getting ~30 miles per gallon, especially since it was a commuter vehicle for me. It is also difficult to overstate how nice it is to have a truck in general. Even without much power, having an open bed was still extremely useful in a lot of day-to-day scenarios. And, although most people probably won't even notice, for a two-wheel drive vehicle without a lift, it had above average ground clearance.
Cons
By far the biggest struggle with this vehicle was the cost to maintain and repair due to it being discontinued. Auto part stores often didn't carry parts that I needed or they were just flat out expensive. This would have been less of an issue if it were not my daily commuting vehicle. Other than that, the layout of some of the things under the hood were just kind of odd. For instance, the thermometer and housing (which is one part) was located between the engine block and the dash, making it virtual impossible to reach without a lift.

I bought the truck to use when I go hunting. I was not expecting a Cadillac ride. It is an older small body pickup, and it probably has seen better days. The engine runs good, the 4 wheel drive works as it should and I am very happy with it. I am able to do all the things I want to with it. Even after all these years, it had been taken care of. The body is straight as the day it was made. The original paint still looks decent. The interior held up after all this time also. I couldn't ask for better. It is still good on gas. The body is sturdy as there are no major shakes, creaks or anything else distracting while I drive. Even in 4 wheel, the engine still runs smooth, the transmission shifts smooth. As far as used vehicles, this truck is the one you want to find. No major mechanical is... (more)
Story
Everytime I take it out, it is fun. I am a country boy, and we know how to have ball with 4 wheel drives!
Pros
It won't cost as much to repair being as old as it is. My fav feature is the 4 wheel drive.
