I averaged 25.6 Mpg over the life of the car. It has been fantastic in the snow and ice with just the stock tires, no winters. I love all the bells and whistles, the backup camera that is standard on the Touring, as is the blind spot monitoring. It is just a blast to drive. The steering wheel and shift knob are wrapped in leather on the Touring trim and highest Grand Touring trim. I run the interior plastic down with some Armorall plastic protectant maybe once a month or so and it keeps it looking really nice and clean. Mazdas have above-average reliability. I expect to keep this car for 10 years or more than 150,000 miles. The Mazda is so much fun to drive compared to every other small crossover or SUV on the market. The Skyactiv transmission/engine combination makes it easy to get go... (more)
Story
Driving it on back country roads - a real thrill.
Pros
The backup camera is really handy for getting into and out of tight spaces and for parallel parking. The blind spot monitoring system is really nice so you can check your side mirror instead of having to physically turn your head every time.
Cons
I wish they had not re-styled it for the 2016 model year. This kind of makes me wish I had waited for the 2016. Additionally, I would prefer that the tailgate could open automatically or without the touch of a button. Another negative thing is that the diesel version of the CX-5 is not available in the U.S. But only in Europe and Asia. The diesel version gets superior gas mileage and I would have liked to purchase that if it were available. The headrests in the back need to be removed before the rear seats can be fully folded down and that is frustrating. Additionally, the rear headrests l... (more)

I really love my vehicle, 2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD, meteorite Gray/ Black interior. This vehicle is the perfect mix of professional and sporty all in one vehicle. I have driven the vehicle in various conditions (slight mud, snow, dirt roads), and it handles incredibly well. The only trade-off that I have noticed is the lighter body for fuel efficiency, and the louder tire noise associated with it. By the way, the fuel efficiency is awesome, averaging 28 miles to the gallon. Another issue that I have had is the Bluetooth module going out and not being able to play my MP3 device over the USB port. I have had to take my vehicle in twice now during the first two years of owning to replace (under warranty). There is lots of leg and head room in the vehicle (and I'm 6' tall).
Story
Took my girlfriend to a drive in movie theater and was able to comfortably lay in the back of the vehicle with the hatch up to watch the movie with lots of room.
Pros
Great technology embedded in the stereo system, blind spot monitor, rear view camera, great view efficiency, lots of leg and head room, and comfortable seats. It has a great mix of luxury and sport.
Cons
Tire noise. They don't make the all-wheel drive with a standard transmission (I was told I had to pay extra for it and that only the two-wheel drive models come factory with it).
