My 2005 Mercury Sable is a damned nice looking vehicle, with its sleek lines, crisp black paint and finish, and ridiculously comfortable seats. It’s pretty solid as a commuter and around-town vehicle, too, with good handling and acceleration and no major mechanical issues. It doesn’t fair particularly well in rain, snow or ice, however, so it may not be a great choice for people in colder or wetter parts of the country.
Story
During my college years, this was the only vehicle that my main group of friends had between us, which meant that this was the vehicle that we used to get just about everywhere we wanted to go. We took it to events around Williamsburg, to my then-girlfriend’s beloved craft stores, to lunch specials and snack runs, to movies and game nights, and everywhere else. One time, I even used the Sable ... (more)
Pros
My Sable is a gorgeous car that looks far more expensive than it actually is. The sleekness of both the body and the finish look great, and the leather seats are both stylish and really comfortable. Handling and acceleration are both very solid, and it’s a good car for urbane and suburban commuting and errands.
Cons
The Sable fares rather poorly in rain, snow, icy conditions and inclement weather generally. It’s not a problem most of the time where I live, but on occasion it can make driving a huge struggle, and I wouldn’t want to take it to the Midwest or New England.

I love the Mercury Sable vehicle. I believe that it is a reliable vehicle, with plenty of room, for a big family. It has been a great added addition to my family and has always been a great car. I am grateful that I paid for this car in cash and I have had it for over 4 years.
Story
Usually telling people the car's name "Mable to Mercury Sable", I also love to sing in Mable, it is my time to completely let loose.
Pros
There are plenty of pros about this car, its reliable, it is easily affordable, plenty of room, lots of leg room, luxury interior, amazing sound system, very smooth ride, visibility is great, great pick up on the highway, extra cargo space, the car is very easy to maneuver, it feels very protective, and it is a very homey place for me, a place where I can dance and sing.
Cons
Not made anymore I don't think, harder to find parts possible, could be too big for certain parking places, worries over black top getting damaged, hard to maneuver into tight spaces.
