2009 Nissan Altima - Very dependable car with little maintenance issues. Great gas mileage and a smooth ride.

I purchased my '09 Altima used in March of 2010. I have the 2.5 S model in white with charcoal interior. I absolutely love it. I previously owned a two-door Accord with a manual transmission, so this was definitely an upgrade. I think the smart key is a great addition to the vehicle. Being able to run into a store and leave my car running and locked, is a luxury in itself. The comfort of the drivers seat is incredible. The seat can adjust to position you are comfortable in. Additionally, the steering wheel not only tilts, but also can adjust to come closer to you. Now I do understand the car has a transmission like no other, but sometimes I feel it gets a little shaky, and this makes me nervous. I think a barley used car should run seamlessly and smooth. If you do not put the pedal to ... (more)
Story
I used to drive a group of four to five friends home each day after school while blaring my upgraded sound system. People would see us and have the funniest look on their faces after seeing a bunch of high schoolers bouncing around and yelling at the top of their lungs.
Pros
Great interior room and trunk space. The suspension parts are pretty easy to work on. Can handle bigger wheels (18-20's) if you want. It is pretty quick from what I can tell. Reliable, inexpensive to maintain (relatively speaking for a car with this power), power and torque, pretty fun car, decent handling, wheels, and exhaust sound.
Cons
Snow states rust out the lower radiator support and the passenger footwall, and both are expensive repairs. Exploding precats ruin the engine. Butterfly valve nuts work loose and fall in the engine, ruining it. Turning radius is not that good. Front-wheel drive doesn't handle like a sports car and has a weak transmission. Thin paint, stock stereo is not for music lovers. Plastic radiator will fail at some point. Also alternators and starters tend to fail on a five- or six -year basis.

The Altima coupe 2.5 S is very fun to drive and is a very reliable means for transportation. What I most liked about this vehicle was the stylish look it has. With it being a 2 door car, it has a sporty look to it and is bound to turn heads while driving. Even though it has enough pick up for a I-4 engine, I wish it had a little more power to get up and go.
Story
I was driving this vehicle on the highway near downtown Cleveland Ohio when a car next to me started speeding. Long story short, we had a little race and it was very exhilarating. HA!
Pros
My favorite feature is the sporty exterior. With it being a 2 door car, it had the look of being a sports car. It had good vision as far as having limited blind spots. The car also came with cruise control, which was really helpful when I had a long road trip ahead of me. It drove smooth for long distances and was very comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. I also liked the car's stereo system. Having a combined total of 6 speakers in the vehicle, making it fun to drive and listen to music. The 2010 Altima coupe 2.5 S also had very good handling in terms of turning tight corners.
Cons
What I don't like about this vehicle is the space. Even though it fits up to a combined total of five passengers, it was a tight fit. The space in the trunk was not all that great and cramming adults in the back seat was a task in itself. This vehicle also had a second generation CVT transmission. It was very weird to get used to. The CVT transmission seems to work when it wants to. Sometimes it will give you the power you need, other times it will not. It bogs A LOT.
