As far as performance goes, my 2008 Subaru Legacy AWD has been very reliable. It gets decent gas mileage and has a fairly large gas tank for a sedan, so I only have to hit the gas pump about once a week. I have a two-hour daily commute. I am able to fit two large rear facing car seats in my car comfortably, but it may be uncomfortable for a tall driver or passenger because it does push the front seats up pretty far. The trunk is super spacious. The car on its own looks sleek. I bought the car from my grandma, so I did not get a choice of color (it's brown), which I do not love, but the car overall looks very nice. The heated leather seats in the front are such a blessing in the winter as well. I like the option of the moon roof, not only because my husband is borderline too tall for th... (more)
Story
Driving this car through the mountains during the summer. It provided a great view for both of my kids in the back seat, and my dogs were having so much fun hanging their heads out the front passenger window.
Pros
My favorite thing about my 2008 Subaru Legacy AWD is the heated leather seats. They get warm so quickly, so I am warm even while the rest of my car is still warming up. I do love that the heat does not take long to get hot, and the air conditioner gets cool fairly quickly as well. The moon roof is an amazing feature because it allows for me to get fresh air even when it's too windy to have the windows down. Plus, it is a great way to distract my toddler when he gets bored in the car. I love the leather seats because they are easier to clean than traditional cloth seats. As a mom that totes... (more)
Cons
While I love that I am able to fit two rear facing car seats in this car, it is a tight fit for those of us in the front seat. I am short enough that as the driver I can make it work, but the steering wheel is immediately in my lap. My husband, in the passenger seat, is smushed and his head is practically out the moon roof. I do not love how this car handles in the snow and ice. It's low profile and AWD, which is nice, but it's so light weight that if there is any wind combined with snow or ice, I worry I will slide everywhere. I also wish that the steering wheel column adjusted a little m... (more)

While this car is a little small for our family of four humans and three dogs, it does get great gas mileage and provides a smooth ride for long road trips. The actual design of the car is very sleek and easy to keep clean. I enjoy the leather seats for the most part, except for on very hot days. They are very easy to clean and maintain. I like that I am able to park my car pretty much anywhere. Considering the fact that the car has been in my family for over ten years (I am the second owner), it is still running in excellent shape without having to have any major work done on it outside of routine maintenance. I recently had to have the windshield replaced after an accident, in which the car held up amazingly despite being ran off the road, driving over a road sign and a barbed wire f... (more)
Story
My family went to Denver, CO, for the first time in this car. We were able to explore the mountains and go through all types of terrain and have the time of our lives. This was shortly after we bought the car, and it is still one of the best memories in the car.
Pros
I love the fact that my car is sleek and able to park anywhere. The leather seats are easy to clean and maintain, which has made keeping my car looking new for a long time a lot easier. The gas mileage is great, especially on long road trips on the highway or interstate. There is a surprising amount of trunk space for the car being such a compact car. It is great for storing a stroller and other baby gear for the parent on the go. It is also a very safe, strong, and secure vehicle. In the only accident it has been in, there was very minimal damage, and my husband walked away from the accid... (more)
Cons
This car is a compact car, so for a family of four humans and three dogs, it can be a little small at times. It was a struggle to find a rear-facing convertible car seat that fit well behind the passenger seat, especially when my tall husband was sitting in the passenger seat. Another issue I've found with the car is that the plastic/rubber lining for the doors/windows comes loose very quickly, which has been disappointing. This has been the one repair that has had to be made a few times on my car. This is exacerbated by having kids ride in the backseat as well, but the problem existed whe... (more)
