As far as performance goes, my 2008 Subaru Legacy AWD has been very reliable. It gets decent gas mileage and has a fairly large gas tank for a sedan, so I only have to hit the gas pump about once a week. I have a two-hour daily commute. I am able to fit two large rear facing car seats in my car comfortably, but it may be uncomfortable for a tall driver or passenger because it does push the front seats up pretty far. The trunk is super spacious. The car on its own looks sleek. I bought the car from my grandma, so I did not get a choice of color (it's brown), which I do not love, but the car overall looks very nice. The heated leather seats in the front are such a blessing in the winter as well. I like the option of the moon roof, not only because my husband is borderline too tall for th... (more)
Story
Driving this car through the mountains during the summer. It provided a great view for both of my kids in the back seat, and my dogs were having so much fun hanging their heads out the front passenger window.
Pros
My favorite thing about my 2008 Subaru Legacy AWD is the heated leather seats. They get warm so quickly, so I am warm even while the rest of my car is still warming up. I do love that the heat does not take long to get hot, and the air conditioner gets cool fairly quickly as well. The moon roof is an amazing feature because it allows for me to get fresh air even when it's too windy to have the windows down. Plus, it is a great way to distract my toddler when he gets bored in the car. I love the leather seats because they are easier to clean than traditional cloth seats. As a mom that totes... (more)
Cons
While I love that I am able to fit two rear facing car seats in this car, it is a tight fit for those of us in the front seat. I am short enough that as the driver I can make it work, but the steering wheel is immediately in my lap. My husband, in the passenger seat, is smushed and his head is practically out the moon roof. I do not love how this car handles in the snow and ice. It's low profile and AWD, which is nice, but it's so light weight that if there is any wind combined with snow or ice, I worry I will slide everywhere. I also wish that the steering wheel column adjusted a little m... (more)

This vehicle is an excellent choice for those who live in climates that get snow and have a family, but still want something fun to drive. The car's performance is on pay with those costing much more, and the styling is subtle but sporty.
Story
The vehicle has taken me through many long commutes, whizzing past others who had found themselves off the size of the road in their large trucks and suvs while the little Subaru took me safely to and from work over an 80 mole round trip commute.
Pros
The car is good looking for a mid size sedan. It has excellent comfort options, including automatic climate control and 4 position heated seating. The turbocharged engine and 6 speed manual make for excellent acceleration, and all wheel drive rounds out the car for amazing handling and winter stability. The car returns about 23 mpg, while requiring little by way of upkeep, over 100,000 miles, I've only replaced the brakes once, and all other fluids as scheduled for routine maintenance. Costs for service have been very reasonable. Given the all wheel drive, the car has always felt ext... (more)
Cons
Space is a little limited compared to other cars in the class, both in the backseat and the trunk. The car has not worn as well as some others at its age, although the major interior components like door panels and seat upholstery remain in good condition. An all wheel drive car can wear through tires rather quickly, which can add to cost of ownership. The vehicle styling could be considered as too subtle. A little more aggression in the styling would be nice, even though I prefer subtle, this car is maybe a bit too subtle.
