A sedan for an old man
It is comfortable but very under powered and lacking some features. The transmission is slow and sometimes clunky, but it is a good daily driver. The inside trim and amenities are all plastic and feel somewhat cheap. The layout of the controls are very comfortable and the ride is generally smooth. I have heard it described as a road trip car, and I honestly feel that is an accurate description. It is the kind of car you would expect to receive from your grandfather or father once they upgraded to something new. There are paddle shifters which you will never use and seem out of place on a car like this. The heated seats are a nice touch and there is a lot of room in the back for passengers. There are some issues with the car on a cold start that will cause it to turn over slowly. I have been in and out of the dealership to have this looked at and it is apparently known to occur on cold starts or cold mornings. Other than that, it has been reliable and give it a good but not great rating.

The perfect car for a long road trip
This car is your dad's car. Don't get me wrong, that is not a bad thing. It has great features, excellent handling, and is a smooth ride. It is also bland, boring, and under powered. It has the all-wheel drive that you have come to expect from Subaru and with the proper tires, is unstoppable in bad weather. We have a few nasty ice and snow storms in the midwest, and this car earned its pay on several of those days by getting me to my destination unscathed. But it is not all good things about the Subaru Legacy. For what it has in handling, it is lacking everywhere else. The biggest thing is its lack of power. When merging on the highway and a slight incline, the Legacy will struggle to get up to speed in a timely manner. Also, the interior features are cheap and flimsy. The air vent controls feel like they can be pulled off at any time. The Òentertainment systemÓ is also outdated for the year the car was produced. You get the basics (CD, AM/FM, stereo) but it is not a music driven experience.
