This was the first Subaru we leased and overall we were thoroughly impressed by the car and its features. As with all Japanese cars, the Legacy handled very well and was very reliable. Behind the wheel, you feel very sturdy and safe. It is also relatively spacious and can see five people with ease. While it doesn't have leather, the seats are nonetheless comfortable, and there is ample space within the car to store water bottles, papers, and anything else you might need to store. Additionally, the cars electronic suite was also pretty good. The base speakers were not the best but were acceptable for the price point, and the touchscreen was pretty intuitive. That said, I wish they did include a Map on the touchscreen so I would not have constantly use my phone's Google Maps. Also, anoth... (more)
Story
Went on a camping trip, and we were also laughing about how your camping trip was so similar to the Subaru commercials that were always airing (because Subaru caters and targets the outdoorsmen).
Pros
I really liked how it handled. This was my first time driving a Subaru ever (we've never even had a rental Subaru) so I was pleasantly surprised. I had previously thought that since I didn't see many on the road, Subaru cars probably had some sort of flaw to them. However, the car and its quality were top notch. The steering felt solid, and the dashboard provides a clear view of the speedometer, the amount of gas left, etc. The electronic suite was also nice because it could charge multiple phones simultaneously. More importantly, it was easy to use -- you could either plug in your phone o... (more)
Cons
Not too many grudges against this car. I guess the big thing is that, unlike a Toyota, when the gas meter is flashing red you definitely should go feel your tank up. It seems like there is no reserve gas tank on this car. There was one time we thought we had 20 miles left (that is, after all, what our dashboard said), but we actually ran out of gas. All this to say the car is really nice, but the suite of estimation software is not the most accurate. In other words, don't cut it close when it comes to refueling. I would assume this applies to other warnings as well. For example, after that... (more)

The Subaru Legacy series has excellent headroom, which is very important for a person who is 6'4" . The interior is spacious overall as well, and is aesthetically pleasing. I chose the leather interior and have found it very easy to keep clean. The car came standard with deep rubber floor mats that do an excellent job of catching dirt, snow, and water. The vehicle gets excellent fuel mileage and has a smooth ride. The engine runs quietly. The all-wheel drive feature handles the snow and ice conditions of the Midwest better than any other car I've driven. My car has the Eye-Sight feature, which signals the driver by beeping when the vehicles veers out of it's lane. This can be annoying when driving on country roads that are unmarked, but the feature can be turned off. The system also si... (more)

While other cars were sliding on icy roads, I was able to drive on without issue.
Pros
Reliability, headroom, spacious interior, comfort, fuel mileage, safety features, appearance, trunk size, standard amenities.
Cons
Price, some of the Eye-Sight features.
