Overall I am very happy with the 2004 Toyota Tundra. It was purchased in 2015 with relatively low mileage on it and no significant history. It works well for towing and hauling large loads and isn't terrible on gas mileage (although it could be better). This is my second pickup truck and my first full size, and I know I'll never be without one from now on because I would absolutely buy another Tundra if I needed to.
Story
I had to go on a training for 4 days about 8 hours from home for work last November. I intended to camp since my employer wasn't paying for a hotel room, but when I got there the campground was closed down for the night so I ended up sprawling out in the back seat of my truck with my sleeping bag in the parking lot at Wal Mart and spending the night there. Good thing it's roomy!
Pros
Very smooth ride for such a big vehicle, and it's a pretty quiet ride as well. The bed is extremely deep and is great for hauling firewood and tools, cutting my transport time down from what it used to be when I couldn't haul as much at once. The full back seat is big enough to accommodate our large dog and our son's car seat with a little room to spare (which is why we got it in the first place).
Cons
The speakers rattle even with music that isn't intentionally bass-heavy, and it seems to be something common with this model because I've seen it in multiple other reviews by owners. The brakes are a little soft, even when brand new, which makes me wonder if they're undersized for the weight of the truck.

I bought the Toyota Tundra at year end in 2004. I was able to find my truck with a V6 engine which is rare in the Tundra. The vehicle has been dependable with very low maintenance costs and no major mechanical problems for the past ten years. The 2004 Tundra has plenty of room with the access cab, but is not an oversized truck, making it easy to drive and maneuver in and out of parking spaces and tight spots. After market accessories such as side bars and camper shells are easy to find and install. The dealer that I purchased the vehicle from I easily accessible and dependable, making routine maintenance on the Tundra easy to obtain. The paint finish on the Tundra is of high quality and easy to match. The interior is very comfortable for both short and long trips. The engine is powerfu... (more)
Story
My favorite place o take a road trip in the Toyota Tundra is the West Texas desert. The vehicle handles most any terrain in the desert and will go where other vehicles cannot, It is very comfortable for long trips.
Pros
Easy to maintain, excellent gas mileage, roomy and comfortable. Favorite feature is the smaller size of the 2004 Tundra.
Cons
Vehicle is underpowered in regards to hauling heavier objects such as RVs and boats.
