This vehicle is not only large enough to handle most tasks, but it is also very powerful. The truck drives very smooth with seamless acceleration. To a passenger, it almost feels like riding in an SUV or passenger car, as it has a great suspension and very smooth breaking and acceleration. It is also very spacious and can comfortably fit five or more people safely. Additionally, it is a great-looking truck.
Story
When I first got this vehicle, I was driving with a family member and wanted to test the acceleration on the highway. I was a little overzealous, and the truck accelerated so quickly it scared me a little.
Pros
This truck has some great options including four-wheel drive and a V8 engine. The engine is very powerful, and the drive train and suspension are very smooth. The bed has enough space for most duties. The interior is very comfortable with adjustable seating. The dash includes most modern amenities, and it doesn't feel like there are many luxuries missing.
Cons
While the interior is comfortable, spacious and adjustable, the center console feels flimsy and the center console lid latch is easy to break. The default height of the truck is also very high, making it difficult for shorter passengers to climb in and out of the vehicle. The height of the truck also makes it difficult for the average person to reach certain areas of the engine bay for routine inspection and maintenance. Also, while the tailgate of the truck has never failed, opening and closing it is not confidence inspiring as the handle/latch does not feel as heavy duty as the rest of t... (more)

2010 Toyota Tundra. I purchased the vehicle to tow a recreational vehicle. This truck is everything I wanted in a truck. I have previously owned a Ford and a Chevrolet truck, and the Toyota truck out performs both. There are no extras on the vehicle however the 5.7 engine and heavy suspension are extremely reliable. I would definitely purchase another Toyota truck. This is the best truck I have ever owned, and I have owned many throughout my years. I have had the vehicle over seven years now, and the reliability is without comparison. The Toyota brand does not make a separate 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton truck. The 5.7 engine and lower rear transmission adds to the towing capacity.
Story
I call the truck "the Beast." I have friends who also tow recreational vehicles. My truck can tow in the mountains or straight runs with ease. The Chevrolet and the Ford have both had issues towing.
Pros
The ride is comfortable. The vehicle has a heavy suspension and great towing power. The vehicle is seven years old, and the paint and body are as good as the day I purchased the vehicle.
Cons
The only negative aspect to the Toyota Tundra is the gas mileage and smaller gasoline tank. The engine with the low torque rear end allows the great towing range, however the mileage per gallon of gasoline is affected. The power will give the driver whiplash when accelerating. This is not a good thing when the owner is older.
