I initially chose my car for the style, as I wanted something cute and unique while still being energy and space efficient as well. That's pretty much what I got! I've driven almost 100,000 miles in my car and have only had two major repairs, so it's quite reliable. I feel like it drives the same at 90k as other cars have at 50k. Beyond that, it's just fun to drive. I loaded the back with stickers that might look tacky on another car but work here because of the iconic body. I sometimes have RPM issues accelerating quite quickly or uphill, but generally my car runs smoothly if just a little bit loudly. I get maybe 25 mpg, which could be better but certainly isn't terrible. I'd definitely buy a more energy-efficient version of this car, a hybrid or even electric, if it became available.... (more)
Story
At my last job, we had a super small parking lot with cramped spaces. My coworker and I both had Beetles, and two of our other coworkers had pick-up trucks. It was always fun watching them try to squeeze into parking while we did it effortlessly.
Pros
The car looks good inside and out. The body shape is unique and iconic as well as being easy to drive around for someone like me who lives in a city where roads and parking are tight. The interior is chic-looking, and the plastic panels and leather seats make it easy to clean. In addition to appearance, the vehicle is surprisingly spacious as well. The boot is large enough to fit all my classroom supplies when I go to work, for example.
Cons
The number one issue with this car is how expensive it can be to fix when it breaks, as it's a European model. My steering column had to be replaced, and it ran me almost 1,000 dollars. Maintenance is very important with this car because it's pretty finicky otherwise; for example, I went only a few hundred miles past when I would normally change my oil, and my gas mileage was nearly halved.

My little blue beetle. Oh how I loved my little blue beetle. This car was something that I always wanted but totally not my style. It looks like a preppy kind of case and I am totally not a preppy kind of girl. The car drove wonderful!!! I felt like everybody looked at me when I drove by because of my beautiful car. But I am sure it was just in my mind. Loved everything about it. The way it looked. The radio in it I loved. The inside of the car to me was beautiful. It was a great beach car with friends. To me its totally a girly type of car. I thought the car preformed wonderful but it didn't drive fast. That is why I would say its not a Man type of car. I guess the only other I would that wasn't the best is the size of trunk I could not put that many bags in the trunk when I went food... (more)
Story
Driving my blue little beetle down the beach with radio blasting & everybody looking.'
Pros
The pros of my little blue beetle. I loved the color of my little blue beetle. I loved the way that my little blue beetle looked. Even though everybody in my family thought it was not my style kind of car. I loved the way it looked. I felt everybody looked at me when I drove by the car was beautiful. I loved the shape of my little blue beetle. I had a plate made for it, it said michy blue little beetle and I kept it in the window. The inside I felt like when I sat in the seat that it was made for me alone. The radio was great I would put window down and play radio loud then drive on beach.... (more)
Cons
The top negative things about my little blue beetle would be that it did not go that fast and that the trunk was not that big so I could not put that many things in it when I went shopping and I could also not have that many people in my car when I was car pooling. Other than that I can not think of anything else bad to say about my little blue beetle.
