This is one of the best cars I have ever driven. For a more affordable luxury car, this vehicle is probably one of the best mid-size SUVs to purchase. Turns are tight and the road is smooth, honestly after 50,000 miles this car still drives like new. A few issues I have with my make is the air conditioning is sub-par for a car this cost and the media system isn't as adaptable as other vehicles.
Story
When I originally got the car I was in high school, so the car was the coolest in my friend group. We would usually meet up on Friday afternoons and hangout within a twenty mile radius of my home. One winter evening we get a call from a few of our friends and they are stuck in the mud off road, so we pile in my car to go help them. We dig them out but didn't have to worry about my car because ... (more)
Pros
Quality, this car has required very little maintenance apart from basic oil changes, tire rotations, etc. The brakes are strong and the gas accelerates at a satisfying rate. Driving the car is easy, the ride is smooth and very stable. The tech in this car isn't too fancy, which is something I like. It is very easy to operate as someone who prefers less technology.
Cons
The A/C and heating is very basic and needs to be more dynamic. The radio system is limited compared to other vehicles. For example, the only way to plug in a fun is through an old IPhone port in the dashboard. There is no Bluetooth connection or aux hookup, so people with non apple products can't plug in their music. Also the media system doesn't detect spottily or Pandora, so I have had to create little tricks to get around that.

After having a baby, we needed a bigger, safer car and picked the Q5. Compared with other SUVs, the exterior has attractive smooth lines and doesn't look or feel like a "mom car". In terms of driving, the Q5 is reliable and one of the safest SUVs out there. I enjoy driving it and have been completely satisfied with its reliability and functionality.
Story
My first time driving the Q5 in downtown Seattle, I was shocked and delighted to find that it doesn't roll back (not even an inch) when waiting at an uphill stop light. This is the only car I've owned that is that good on inclines.
Pros
The interior feels luxurious with the soft leather seats and wood panel details. The driver and passenger seats adjust to provide more back support. As a parent, I appreciate that there is enough space in the back middle seat to accommodate a convertible car seat without pushing against either front seat or taking space from the other back seats. In terms of driving, the Q5 feels sturdy and drives smoothly - a great balance between power and style.
Cons
The only downsides to the Q5 have to do with cost. It is one of the more expensive SUVs out there and Audi maintenance costs aren't cheap either. I got a scratch on one of the door panels and was shocked by the repair cost. At the same time, the car is built to a high quality standard and is likely to need fewer repairs in general compared to its less expensive competitors.
