2006 Hyundai Azera Owner Ratings & Reviews

2006 Hyundai Azera - Easily the best car I've owned
It was kept in excellent condition when I got it and had all the records in the glove box. It was easily the quickest I've been able to make a decision on buying a new vehicle. It's comfortable, had many unique features, and has reliability that rarely lets me down. There were issues I needed to address simply because of the car's age. It needed a 90,000-mile tune-up, but that's something I consider unavoidable and not an issue with the car itself.
Story
Buying the car was probably the most memorable. My last car was so run down that the new one felt like a totally different experience.
Pros
Where do I start? This car is built to last. It's only ever had one major failure due to an old starter (the one installed by the manufacturer), and since then, it's given me no serious problems. The ride feels like you're gliding on the road and acceleration comes easily. The special edition comes with heated seats, a moon roof, and many other bells and whistles.
Cons
The essential functions of this car are rock solid with routine maintenance, but some of the extra features are a little more touchy and fragile. The rear window sliding shade element broke long before I purchased the car and was not worth trying to fix. Apparently this is a common occurrence with these cars.
2006 Hyundai Azera - 2006 Hyundai Azera
This has been a very good vehicle. Even after 8 years there are no significant problems with the vehicle or the fit and trim. It is a quiet, comfortable, solid vehicle to drive. Absolutely no problems driving or operating the vehicle. The quality of the vehicle has been great. The only major thing was a new set of tires for the vehicle in 2014. There has been one major recall involving the rear stabilizer bar which was replaced by the manufacturer. Would buy a new model but they've significantly changed the styling so that it is almost indistinguishable from the Sonata at first glance.
Story
Many great trips around the country in this car.
Pros
Fit and finish has been excellent.
Many options are standard with the vehicle.
Very comfortable leather seats
Excellent sound system
Great styling
Excellent brakes
Large trunk
Fairly good mileage, 19 mpg in town and 27 mpg on the highway
Cons
The Michelin tires which came with the vehicle only lasted about 45,000 miles.
If the driver's window is open slightly when raining, water pours off the roof and into the car, could use some type of gutter to redirect the water.
The key chain bangs against the plastic dashboard and steering wheel guard which can be annoying, should have been padded in some way.
