There are quite a few things I like about the 2016 Kia Forte, starting with the price point and value in the car. For instance I love the backup camera which is useful for obvious reasons. I've also fallen for the Bluetooth connectivity for up to 4 devices, especially since I use six on a daily basis. The cloth seats for me are also a plus since I really don't like how hot leather gets when the sun's out. But by far the best part of the car is the gas millage which on any given day can be 40-42 mpg. I was able to drive 4-5 hours on one tank of gas and still had enough to drive around for a bit the next day.
Story
I would have to say it was the trip to New Orleans, I met up with friends, went fishing. Took 2-3 nights on bourbon and canal street and topped it off with on gas fill up while out there for about two weeks. Now that's a damn good story.
Pros
As I mentioned before, the Bluetooth connectivity gives me the ability to control music from any of my devices without the need for a wire on any of them. Also, despite the compact size of the car, it gives a generous amount of trunk space which is augmented by the back seats that fold down nearly doubling the space available for carry. Once again the best feature to me is the gas millage. I drove all the way from New Orleans from Galveston, TX and still had enough to do an hour drive to Houston afterwards.
Cons
It does not in any way look cool! Not even a little bit, this completely drops the appeal of the car in the eyes of anybody who sees it under the age of 35. Instead of "lets go party" the car's looks gives more of a message akin to "lets study for midterms", which for some may be a positive thing but from the perspective of a guy in his 20's it is nothing to be proud of. I remember the days of driving my sports car and always looking for a parking spot in the front just to see people reactions as I entered and exited the vehicle and the Forte makes you want to park it where it can't be se... This vehicle is a great value for the money. There are a lot of perks even on the base model. The ride is smooth, and it handles great.
Story
My mom was in the hospital for some months. During that time, I spent many hours on the road. My car made things easier to coordinate her care. Being able to do voice calling, dial, hang up, all from the steering wheel helped me to focus on the road.
Pros
Gas mileage is a definite plus, even with gas prices as high as they are, you can fill up the tank from empty for about $40. Another great feature is the Bluetooth connectivity. If you drive a lot, then being able to talk on the phone hands free is really awesome. You are able to dial, redial, hang up all from your steering wheel. Apple Car Play does not come on my LX model, but I don't miss it. All I have to do is plug in my iPhone and I can listen to all my music (can do that via Bluetooth as well), and I can use the navigation on the phone and it will come through the car speakers!
Cons
I don't have a lot of cons, but the major one would be the vents. When I'm really hot, it seems that there is never enough air coming through the vents, even when the air conditioning is all the way up! Also, they could put a bigger screen on the base model, would help with the back up camera.
