There are quite a few things I like about the 2016 Kia Forte, starting with the price point and value in the car. For instance I love the backup camera which is useful for obvious reasons. I've also fallen for the Bluetooth connectivity for up to 4 devices, especially since I use six on a daily basis. The cloth seats for me are also a plus since I really don't like how hot leather gets when the sun's out. But by far the best part of the car is the gas millage which on any given day can be 40-42 mpg. I was able to drive 4-5 hours on one tank of gas and still had enough to drive around for a bit the next day.
Story
I would have to say it was the trip to New Orleans, I met up with friends, went fishing. Took 2-3 nights on bourbon and canal street and topped it off with on gas fill up while out there for about two weeks. Now that's a damn good story.
Pros
As I mentioned before, the Bluetooth connectivity gives me the ability to control music from any of my devices without the need for a wire on any of them. Also, despite the compact size of the car, it gives a generous amount of trunk space which is augmented by the back seats that fold down nearly doubling the space available for carry. Once again the best feature to me is the gas millage. I drove all the way from New Orleans from Galveston, TX and still had enough to do an hour drive to Houston afterwards.
Cons
It does not in any way look cool! Not even a little bit, this completely drops the appeal of the car in the eyes of anybody who sees it under the age of 35. Instead of "lets go party" the car's looks gives more of a message akin to "lets study for midterms", which for some may be a positive thing but from the perspective of a guy in his 20's it is nothing to be proud of. I remember the days of driving my sports car and always looking for a parking spot in the front just to see people reactions as I entered and exited the vehicle and the Forte makes you want to park it where it can't be se... It's a nice vehicle that does everything it's supposed to. The design inside and outside the car is modern and pretty. The features are pretty standard and boring, but it's not a big deal if you don't care about that. The acceleration can sometimes be a bit spotty (as in sometimes the car has a delay in acceleration) but you get use to it.
Story
My best memory with this car was actually getting it and driving it off the lot. I had traded it for a dying Chevy and the difference and feeling of driving a car that was not going to break down on me felt so wonderful and freeing. I will never forget that feeling.
Pros
Its design is small and modern. It is a very quiet car, and the radio, air conditioner and heater work wonderfully. It's very reliable, especially with KIA's warranty. Favorite features are definitely the key locks and the Bluetooth.
Cons
While it has the standard features for a car of its era, it's missing a lot of modern features such as parking camera, Wi-Fi, and other super modern features. It's also a fairly standard car, so if you're looking for something sporty and unique or interesting, this is definitely not the car for you. The biggest con is definitely the acceleration issues. It has a habit of delaying acceleration. This is an issue that has been reported by many owners of this car, but KIA has yet to do anything about it.
