17-year-old car, really?
I used to have a 1998 Honda Accord LX, and it was a solid car. It ran well and was relatively reliable, but then the transmission started to slip, and so I got rid of it. I took a bit of a loss, so I was looking for something within budget of mine. That is where the 2000 Lexus Es300 came into play. I was looking at a 2000 Lexus Es300 with around 150k miles, and I bought it for $4,000. Driving it around there was a big difference between the Honda I used to own and this car. This car is really reliable and drives extremely smooth on roads even with that much mileage on it. Fuel efficiency isn't all that great, as in the city I get around 15 mpg and highway around 25-26. Combined I average around 18 miles per gallon. For all of those saying it needs premium fuel, it really doesn't. The ES has the same engine compression as the v6 Camry which recommends regular, and therefore putting regular in your ES won't make a difference. It has heated seats, HID lights, and an amazing sound system with a crazy subwoofer. Unfortunately, this car was totaled by a deer, so I replaced it - with guess what? Another 2000 ES, but this one with only 117k miles, and it drives even better.

Dependable luxury at an affordable price
I have been driving my car for about three years, and I can say that I do not regret purchasing it. Even though it is an older car and has about 76,000 miles on it, it still performs well every day and does not require a lot of maintenance. The interior is beautiful -- it features leather seats, a beautiful leather steering wheel, and polished wood accents. There is plenty of legroom and a good-sized trunk. The car has heated seats and a climate control system that is easy to use. The exterior is a classic example of car design. The V6 engine allows it to perform well on the highway, even though the car itself is a bit of a gas-guzzler. The car remains steady on the road, and even though it is a bigger sedan, it is surprisingly spry. While it has performed well for the most part, I did have some problems with power steering -- the pump broke and had to be replaced twice, which was a difficult job. In addition to this, I know that these particular models have problems with tire pressure, as many owners report having to inflate their tires more often than usual. Overall, I would recommend this car to someone who is looking for a classic design and a comfortable and elegant interior, as well as a powerful engine.

Quiet, clean, good gas mileage
My vehicle is sleek, shiny, no rust, VERY CLEAN ENGINE, runs very quiet, good gas mileage. It was a toss up between the Lexus ES300 and a Chevy Impala. The Impala was very nice, but what did it for me was the stock sound system in the Lexus and the leather seats. I have young children and fabric seats soak up everything that they spill. Leather just wipes right off.
