This car has been a solid vehicle for the almost 8 years I have owned it. I have put over 150,000 miles on it including a cross country trip from the East to West coast with zero issues. This car is the perfect combination of a family vehicle, every day driver, and even a car to impress someone on a date or job interview.
Story
My recent cross country drive in this car was quite memorable. The fact that all I had to do was put gas in her and go was a tribute to its reliability. We drove from east to west, hitting 11 states and numerous sights along the way and got many pictures in the process!
Pros
The top positive aspect to this car for me is the cheap availability of parts for regular maintenance such as brake pads. Given that this car is essentially a Toyota Camry, parts were on the same level as normal domestic cars and I found that to be a huge benefit. The other pro to this car is that, provided you take care of it, it will run forever without issue, no rattles in the chassis, a reliable 6 cylinder engine to give you a power combination of acceleration, speed, and fuel efficiency (I average around 30 MPG for a car over 10 years old!) The leather interior was a must when I bough... (more)
Cons
The only real negatives about this vehicle are some engineering aspects. In order to properly replace a headlight bulb, the procedures require you to remove the front bumper which is really stupid in my opinion. I have found a way to get around it, but it can be a pain still.

2002 Lexus ES 300 - I would not likely buy this car again

Although I would likely would not buy this car again, it has lasted me many years without hugely significant problems. It has high miles and is still in working condition. I have had issues with the paint and severe rattling of the tires. But I will say, it is a great family vehicle and has been a safe car for our family.
Story
We were able to bring our baby home from the hospital in this vehicle. That is one thing I will never forget.
Pros
My favorite feature of this car is probably the leather seats. The interior has held up very well. The sound system is great, and the trunk is a great size. My husband is an avid golfer and it can easily hold his clubs along with our baby's stroller. The back middle seat will fold down and provide cupholders for the back seats which is an added bonus.
Cons
One of my least favorite features is that the back barely gets any air conditioning. It has made it difficult for my kids to get much air in the hot summers. The tires have also seemed to come out of alignment quite frequently which has caused significant shaking of the vehicle. We have also dealt with overheating of the engine a few times as well which is frustrating..
