The vehicle I have is a 2007 Lexus IS 250. I had a 2001 Lexus IS 300 prior to this car. I loved the old IS 300. I had it for 7 years and never had any problems. On the other hand, the IS 250 is horrible. I would never buy a Lexus again because of the experience I had with the Is 250. I bought the car used in 2010, since then, I went through two batteries. After I got a second battery replace with the warranty, the car make loud rattling sounds under the hood. It only happened twice and Lexus was not able to tell me what happened. They said everything was fine. The car is veer bumpy, it feels like I'm riding a go-kart. I recently spent over $2400 to have all four struts and shocks replace. Story
I don't really have any memorable stories with this car. I only used it to drive to work and home. Used it as a daily driven car.
Pros
The car has decent fuel consumption compared to my old BMW. The car came with a great warranty and the Lexus service center always treated me well.
Cons
The shocks went out after 7 years. I had to spend over $2,400 to replace them at the Lexus service center and it still ride almost like it did before replacing the shocks and struts. The garage opener does not work and Lexus said it is fine. I went through two batteries since 2011.

I purchased this car new and have now owned it for 8 years with over 110k miles put on it. Never caused me any headache or heart ache especially for a car I've run over 110k miles. Only out of the ordinary repair that had to be done was change a dying water pump but that is still considered regular for a car at this mileage. To top off the reliability, the car looks great compared to other similar vehicles with luxury interiors that Lexus has become known for. The center backseat opens up from the inside so you can access the trunk so my large Husky was able to use it like a dog house on a long road trip. I couldn't have made a better purchase on a vehicle I own!

Was going on a ski trip and took my Husky. Because the center of the backseat opens up allowing access to the trunk, my Husky was able to use it like a dog house on a rather long road trip up the mountain.
Pros
Gas mileage is great running at an average of 27 mpg with up to 32 mpg on the highways. Very peppy V6 engine when put on sports mode. Luxurious leather interior with heated and cooling seats and great sound system.
Cons
Several issues that eventually had Lexus call in an official defect recall but until the fix were rather annoying issues. Dying LED needles on the cluster gauge and unresponsive touch screen center console after 6 years is a major con.
