I chose this car because it's easy to park in the city and great on gas. Unfortunately, it falls to pieces with simple dents and dings. It is clearly plastic as a Barbie. It has decent pickup and speed on the highways, but after regular use, the wheels make noises that have been analyzed many times by the dealership without a fix in sight. While it's good on gas, I've owned a Suzuki in the past that was better on gas. I worry about driving my son around in this car as it just feels flimsy and unsafe on the road.
Story
My car was completely buried in the snow by the blizzards of 2014 - it's so small that it was undetectable parked on the city streets after the snow had drifted.
Pros
The best things about this vehicle were its small size which made it easy to park in South Philadelphia and its great gas mileage. I can normally go a full week with regular commuting on a single tank of gas that costs less than $20.
Cons
I hate the brake system on this car. I feel like it constantly loses touch with the roads whenever I am braking, especially on bumpier terrain. Also, the tire sizes are so small that if they need replacing it costs me a ton of money because only two specific brands make that size. The body of the car is easily scratched and there are panels not quite meeting at the seams because of regular wear and tear. I've never had an accident, but the car acts like I've had 20 of them.

The Mazda 2 is the perfect size for me. As someone who does not have any children and lives a somewhat minimalist lifestyle it's size and features are perfect. The car can comfortably fit 4 adults, though if any of them are above the recommended BMI the handling begin to struggle. Though it is a hatchback, the shape and styling is not reminiscent of on old station wagon. Interior features are stylish, though not lavish.
Story
It snowed very heavily the day I bought my car. When I purchased the car, there was no snow on the ground and 5 hours later we had about 6 inches. During the heavy snowfall, I had to pick up my little sister from her dance lessons. On the way home I decided to see if the car had the ability to do donuts. The answer is yes. My sister learned that she does not enjoy doing donuts.
Pros
Though the car is exceedingly small when compared to the vast majority on the road, interior storage in exceptional. An upright bass will fit in the car without interfering with the driver (though no other passengers may fit in the car). The car's front grill gets attention due to the fact that it makes the car look like it has a giant smile.
Cons
In an effort to keep the power to weight ratio relatively high, Mazda skimped on sound insulation. This causes road noise to be very noticeable. The entertainment system is slightly behind the times with no usb or advanced features, like navigation. Since 2012, the company has made an adjustment to the rear spoiler that makes the car look like a balding man with a large nose. The addition of a larger rear spoiler will help this as well as possibly improving drag coefficient.
