2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse - Bad purchase
There are not many things I like about my vehicle. The quality of the car is not great. One main issue I have had is with the tires. No matter how many times I replace/rotate/balance the tires, they are always low. I have bought a brand new set of four tires twice and both times, within a month, they went low. I am not sure if it has something to do with the weight of the car or the build. Also, the interior is plastic and it is cheap. The weight of the doors is too much for the plastic interior handles to support. The driver and passenger handles have broken. I have had problems with the stereo system as well. The CD player has broken twice. It will not spit out CD's. If I do end up getting a CD out, it then takes several tries for the player to read the new disc that is put in. The a... (more)
Story
I have moved several times and once I moved out of state taking only my dog and what I could sit into my car. I put the backseats down and shoved as many things into my car as I could. The car is so small that all I could take were clothes, shoes, and a few household items such as small picture frames.
Pros
The body style of the car is nice. The design is sleek and sporty. Many people have complimented me on the car saying how nice it is. The small size of the vehicle is great as well. It is very easy to park the car in parking garages. Parallel parking is easy which is nice when in the city. In general, it has been fairly reliable. I have had the car for four years and have put roughly 55,000 miles on it without breaking down. Another pro is that maintenance on the vehicle is reasonably priced. As the driver, the car is comfortable for me. When driving long distances, the seat does get somew... (more)
Cons
The car is extremely uncomfortable for anyone who is a passenger. The back seat is far too small for any person to fit in because there is no legroom even when the front seats are scooted pretty far up. For such a small car that has a 4-cylinder engine, the fuel economy is terrible. I average about 23 miles to the gallon. The major cons of this vehicle are all of the interior things that are such poor quality. It is hard to pull your door shut when the handle is cheap broken plastic. There is no trunk space in the car, either.
2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse - Best car ever
The Mitsubishi Eclipse is the best car I've ever owned. It's style is unmatched by any other car in it's price range. It is a great car for anyone who enjoys driving fast. It is a very attractive car. I receive compliments on an almost daily basis about how good the car looks. It handles a lot better than most similar sports cars that I've driven. I enjoy going on long drives in the country in the car. The Eclipse's fuel mileage isn't great, but it's not terrible. The maintenance costs are relatively low compared to other sports cars. The interior of the car has a convenient layout. It comes equipped with an amazing sound system. There isn't much space inside the car, though. I wouldn't recommend it as a family car. However, I have been able to fit four adults in the car, ... (more)
