I like my Scion xB. It's a low gas mileage grocery-getter that fits me and my family. While it is small, everyone is often amazed at how much room there is inside. I've only had a few issues with it. The trunk handle is flawed, and mine broke. And the auxiliary plug hasn't worked since I got it. However, it's got a great Pioneer stereo and nothing essential has ever worn out or broken. It's survived a lot of road trips and even a few off-road adventures. It sits very low to the ground, though, so I have to watch out for slopes and scraping the bumper. There's not a lot of storage, but what it does have is sufficient. It also has amazing traction. It’s really good in the snow. My husband even calls it the “snow beast.” Overall, it’s been a nice addition to the family. And everyone who’s... (more)
Story
We took the car out onto a little dirt path and followed it out to a secret spot on the river to go fishing. My friend's truck got stuck trying to leave, but the Scion took off without a problem!
Pros
The Pioneer stereo is great. The traction is good even in adverse weather like rain or snow. It's great on gas, and costs very little to go on road trips. It fits my family of 4 with extra room. It can tow remarkably well for its small size. It's got great reaction time. It's compact. The storage is sufficient. I enjoy the extra cup holder in the center console. It's a pretty smooth ride with great traction control. It's good for some really light off road adventures. The safety ratings are pretty good. I really like the large display for the dash. The box design is cool looking. There’s e... (more)
Cons
The back handle for the trunk storage is flawed, and mine has broken. The auxiliary plug does not work, which means no using my iPod for music. It does get made fun of sometimes. People sometimes call it the clown car or the box mobile. While the storage is sufficient, it would be better if it had more. It would also be cool if the back window accessed the trunk section. The driver and passenger mirrors are tiny. While my family of four fits comfortably, putting anyone else in the backseat is practically impossible. It has no cruise control, and adding one voids the manufacturer’s warranty... (more)

My scion xB is a special case in that it is modified to accommodate my wheelchair. An automatic ramp folds out of the trunk hatch and my chair is secured in the back where the back seat used to be. It is a great substitute for a giant minivan, however I do sometimes wish I had more than one passenger seat. Besides the modifications, the car itself is a regular 2005 xB. It has been very reliable, and I keep it regularly checked at a Toyota dealership to avoid any issues. I have still had to replace the catalytic converter, right front wheel bearing, and numerous other things, but most of the time it has been due to normal ware and tear over 10 years. I like its interior, which is very quiet when the engine is off or idle. The large windows all around give a fantastic 360 degree view. Th... (more)
Story
One time I went on a road trip from Low Angeles to Las Vegas with my father. We hit a stretch of wide open road and my dad encouraged me to see how fast I can go. When it climbed over 100 mph, it was a thrilling experience. I soon slowed down, but we made good time to Vegas. I when we finally arrived, I got to drive down the Vegas strip and see all the lights. I'll never forget it.
Pros
I really like the dash design, door interiors and seat fabric. It has fun, tight steering and it can get going pretty fast. Also, the fact it can be modified so easily is definitely a plus.
Cons
The engine can be very loud when accelerating at speeds. Also, the flat top of the car collects a lot of dirt and debris.
