This car is extremely comfortable for the price. The square shape allows tall people to ride comfortably, and it has a greater cargo capacity because there's no slope to the back. The back seats fold down so the car can be slept in during a camping trip. I made it over 60k miles on the factory brakes. It comes with air conditioning and an audio hookup, which is great for broadcasting directions or music. My only complaints are the shape and weight make it a little slick in the snow, and the car is very loud if you roll the windows down on the highway.
Story
I slept in this vehicle on a road trip. I was about to doze off at a rest stop in rural PA, when my husband casually mentioned that there were bears in that area. I did not sleep the rest of the night, so I was able to witness several people getting out of their cars to use the rest stop, and many of them sauntered by to check out the car. At the time it was brand new and had just been redesig... (more)
Pros
Great gas mileage, very comfortable ride, a high drivers seat, lots of room inside, and a great audio cable hookup.
Cons
A little light in the snow, and the shape can create a loud noise when the windows are down on the highway.

We purchased the vehicle because I was nervous driving our family's F150, and we have all loved having the Scion. It has made moving easier since my family has moved three or four times in the past three years since purchasing the vehicle as well as it has made it easier on me moving to college. It gets decent gas mileage, and the only issue that any of us have had about owning the vehicle has been that it is difficult for the elderly members of our family to get in our out of the vehicle. The car has held up really well for making the drive back and forth from Tennessee to Illinois several times a year.
Story
My mom and I made our first long distance trip in the car by taking it from Nashville to Atlanta to go to a Braves-Dodgers game since we're originally from LA and Scions were first test marketed in LA.
Pros
Ample room for moving, good gas mileage, has held up well over the time.
Cons
Easily dented, difficult for people with joint issues to get in and out.
