This car is one of the best cars I have ever had. It drives great in the snow and I have never had a problem with it. There has been no technical difficulties with the car and it has been very reliable. I appreciate that the safety of the car and bought it so that I can drive my family around without having to worry about safety during an accident.
Story
Driving in the snow, everyone else's cars were getting stuck including a truck and my car just buzzed right around it without a slip.
Pros
I really like the safety rating of the car and that was the main reason I bought it. The heated seats are also something that I really enjoy. The heater in general is really good and works well and quickly upon starting the car. It is pretty decent on gas - I would say about average. It is also comfortable to drive in and roomy enough for people to sit comfortably.
Cons
The trunk is essentially too small for everything, its impossible to go grocery shopping for normal sized purchases without putting things in the backseat. Also, the interior is okay but not anything special I would have liked more style inside the car. Gas mileage could be better, but it is pretty ok.

2010 Subaru Impreza - Not worth the trouble.

I bought this car because it seemed to fit my lifestyle and was told by the dealer that they last a very long time. The 2010 Subaru Impreza is the best car if you live in the snow or dirt. But for day to day commute, it is not worth the trouble. Made mostly inside of cheap materials, from the cheap sound system and plastic interior, the only thing of value is the all-wheel drive system. Unfortunately, that part is under the car.
Story
Driving the dirt road looking for fall colors, and we found Middle Control Road in the San Bernardino Mountains. It was probably the most fun ride. We also took the car to Heart Bar Campground to find the quaking aspens.
Pros
The car is rugged, able to take on the windy roads of mountains and climb dirt roads for basic off roading. The gas mileage is probably the best in its class. 33 mpg highway, 30 city. Small and compact. It fits into any space and is able to squeeze into tight places. The seats that lay all the way back. That is a major plus. It is great for hauling bikes, camping gear, and the like.
Cons
Because of the all-wheel drive system, if you get one flat tire, you have to replace all four, according to the dealer. The transmission is noisy and sounds as if it's going to break. My biggest fear is it slipping out of gear. I cannot tell if the noises it makes when shifting are normal. According to forums and the dealer, the engine noise and transmission is within range. Two common noises are the thump of the ABS brake when starting and then the slap of the plates when shifting from second to third gear. Also, the engine is very noisy. The heat shields do very little to prevent ... (more)
