Is equipped with AWD which is excellent in snow conditions, comfortable and smooth & quiet ride, well made body with no rattles after 24,000 miles, back seats fold flat to accommodate larger loads, nice styling, very reliable, great fuel mileage, good pick up. Has USB ports for various device hook ups Sound system could be better but is sufficient
Story
This past winter we had a terrible snow storm and there is a very steep hill approaching my residence. While other vehicles on the road were sliding and slipping in all directions on ascending the said hill, I had NO problem at all getting up the hill and to my destination. I attribute this to the AWD which is standard equipment on this car.
Pros
AWD, style, fold flat back seats, sound/strong body build
Cons
Sound system could be better

My car is a Subaru Impreza, a 2013 basic model in dark steel blue. I primarily chose it because of the reasonable price and Subaru's reputation for making quality, durable vehicles. I have found this reputation to be accurate because this car has handled slick, icy roads and rough dirt trails without any issues. The fuel efficiency is good, especially for a four-wheel drive vehicle. I have found that with my mix of lots of city and some highway driving, I can get about 400 miles from a tank of fuel. While it does not have many of the luxurious features of some other models in the same price range, I have not been let down by the Impreza's performance.
Story
I had wanted to visit a particular trailhead in the mountains, but my previous car hadn't been able to make it over the rough road. I was able to get there in the Impreza and had a great 8-mile hike with a picnic next to a waterfall.
Pros
This car is reliable and I have not had any significant issues with it in the year I have owned it. It handles well on icy and wet roads, superior to other cars I have owned. It also turns more smoothly than most other cars I have driven. It is a good choice for mountain driving, which is a big part of what I use it for. I have noticed no issues with rattling or other unusual noises. In fact, even the engine is relatively quiet. The electronic features perform reliably. The brakes respond more quickly than most other cars I have driven. The fuel efficiency is very good and an added feature... (more)
Cons
One issue I have with this car is that it has fairly low under clearance-- I had to abandon one trail I was driving on because the Impreza could not handle the more extreme dips in the road. The Impreza is low on luxury features. The seats are cloth and the interior design is almost all obvious plastic. The radio is very basic and there is no touch screen. There are also no fog lights in this model. There was a small issue with the car using more oil than intended, which can occur in about 5% of Imprezas. To Subaru's credit, they did provide free service to fix this.
