This vehicle is arguably the best one I have ever had the privilege of using. As of today, it is fifteen years old, and it still runs very well. I have had to get a few parts (e.g., transmission) replaced only because of its sheer age. Both family and friends are always surprised when they find out after riding in it that it has been going strong for 340,000 miles. It runs extremely well. I can never have complaints, outside of the realization that it is technically still an SUV and gas prices do not decrease no matter the reliability of the vehicle.
Story
One funny but embarrassing story about my sequoia occurred while working for a firm that only had a parking garage for easy access parking. I had been working there for about a month and had no real issue maneuvering the vehicle in what was a quite tightly packed garage for any SUV. However, one day as I was leaving the garage, I did not make sure that I would go directly through the middle of... (more)
Pros
The Sequoia is built to last. The only times I ever need to take it in for service is for routine oil changes and now, the replacement of an understandably old part, given it is 15 years old with 300,000+ miles. Living in Florida presents it's own problems due to the nature of drivers and the ever unpredictable weather. However, this Sequoia is built to be able to maneuver so many varied situations. Handling the vehicle amid hurricane rains, traffic, and reaction times of poor drivers is quite easy, even though it is not a small vehicle.
Cons
The only problem I could find is that it technically is an SUV that barely gets more than 20 miles to the gallon, but even then, the stunning lack of mechanical issues keeps overall costs very low.

This vehicle is by far one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. It is so spacious, has three rows of seating, and each row has tons of room. These Toyotas can last forever. Currently, there is over 200,000 miles on our SUV, and it is still going strong. We have owned it for almost two years now and have had relatively no problems with this vehicle besides your standard upkeep for a vehicle. We have taken it on long road trips and have had no issues driving through mountains, and the ride is very smooth and comfortable. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking to purchase an SUV and, as a matter of fact, I have recommended it several times now.
Story
One fun story would be the last road trip we took as a family down south. It was an eight-hour car drive. It was just all around a wonderful trip and a great experience with my family. We purchased two portable car DVD players and were able to hook them up because there was a back passenger cigarette outlet. So we didn't have problems with the cord not being long enough. The ride was so comfor... (more)
Pros
Very spacious, third row seating. Runs great even with high mileage. Sunroof and roll down truck window. Smooth ride and has no issues with traveling long distance or through mountain over passes. Has air and heat control buttons for the rear passengers. Has all the necessary connections for attaching car seats for children. Almost no issues even with over 200,000 miles.
Cons
One negative would be the back truck lock has fallen through after repeated use of using it. Having issues fixing it and need to take it in to our mechanic to fix. Just got a traction control light on but not seeing anything when it is plugged into the computer reader. Need to take into a dealer. Just got a recall notice on the passenger airbag to get fixed as soon as possible. However, that repair will be at no cost to us.
