At the time I was searching for a vehicle, my two main concerns were the number of seats it contained and its clearance space. I had five children and one on the way, so I needed space for them, daddy and myself. This vehicle seats eight and yet still compact compared to other larger SUVs but doesn't feel this way in the interior. I also lived in the country where getting stuck in sand and mud happened often, so high clearance was a necessity as well. It has stood the test of time as I bought it used in 2010 and it is still running like a champ. This is a 14-year-old vehicle, and nothing major has gone wrong. It holds its value as it is still worth the same amount today as when I purchased it in 2010. Exceptional SUV!
Story
This vehicle contains so many memories, but our trip to the gulf was one of the best. I have only been able to take my kids on two trips their entire lives, and this was one of them. We piled in and drove from Austin to Galveston and had a great time. We parked on the beach and played all evening. I loved seeing all of my kids have such a wonderful time together.
Pros
One of my favorite features of my vehicle is that it's spacious but still has a sporty look and feel. You would never guess looking at this car while driving down the road that it's holding eight people. I love that it rides high, as I am short and like being able to see everything going on around me. This provides me with a little more security and control concerning accidents. I also love the leather interior. Kids make messes constantly, and this happens frequently in the car. Leather makes cleaning them up easy, and it also doesn't hold odors. As the primary driver, maneuvering this ve... (more)
Cons
There really isn't much about this vehicle I do not like, but shortly after buying it, two things happened. The rear window used to lower and raise but quit working. That was a fun feature. The other is the handle for accessing the back where one would store suitcases for road trips or groceries broke as well. I discovered this was common among many Sequoia owners and not just mine. Toyota wants nearly $500 to fix just the broken handle. I have yet to take mine in as this amount of money can always be better spent elsewhere. Groceries ride in the front and on the laps of the lucky passenge... (more)

This has been an exceptional family vehicle! We have put over 180,000 miles on it, and it's still going strong! Only had small issues with it that were easily fixed. The outside of the SUV is very sturdy, though I feel the lights could use an update as they're faded. I love the style of both inside and outside. It has a pretty sleek look to it. The seats are super nice, very comfortable, and easily fit our two children and their car seats. It is roomy enough to fit seven of us, and I love the grey interior and smooth faux leather seats. We have packed this SUV to the brim and headed on camping trips, and it does a great job hauling us and gets great gas mileage! Easy to clean as well!
Story
We got hit by two deer driving home one night. They came running down off a hill and slammed into our drivers side, bending the doors on that side. One of the deer survived, and the other was sadly put down.
Pros
Pros are how comfortable it is and how smooth it runs and rides. The ease in which all the locks and windows go up and down is nice. The air and heat work extremely well. Love the tinted windows.
Cons
The back hatch lever broke, and the only way to replace is to tear the entire door apart to fix a small plastic piece that should have been made of metal. The seat belts could use updating and sometimes slip when clicked into place. The radio went out, and the volume control messes up and will be way too loud if it gets bumped.
