2012 Toyota Sequoia Owner Ratings & Reviews

2012 Toyota Sequoia - One of the most comfortable rides available.
I have had the Toyota Sequoia twice in my life. Back in 2003 and just recently got one again in 2016. I cannot say anything bad about this truck besides it being a V8 and putting a hole in my pocket, but that's really about it.
Story
We would always drive down to Orlando, Florida every year when we had the truck early on, and still did this past December 2016. The drives down and back were always a blast and a lot of fun to drive around in this kind of truck.
Pros
Both trucks that I owned had top of the line seats and entertainment systems, the older one having a 14" TV in the back with a DVD player and the newer truck has SAT/NAV with Bluetooth on JBL speakers. Its got heated leather seats, and both trucks were hands down the most comfortable ride I have ever had. It was like driving on a cloud, especially since we would make our annual trip down to Florida during Christmas time.
Cons
Only con for the truck is that it eats up gas, therefore you're always constantly filling up the tank. Nowadays it is easy at $2.29/gallon but back in the late 2000's it was almost $100 to fill up the tank!
2012 Toyota Sequoia - Family SUV that can tow too
I was looking for a vehicle that I could use for my family, primarily for my wife to drive. But I also wanted a vehicle that would be able to tow heavier items such as my fishing boat. I was also looking at buying a fifth wheel down the road so the SUV needed to be able to tow that too. I landed on a 2012 Toyota Sequoia. My main reasoning was that the engine was very powerful, and I found the interior to be very spacious. In my family we fit two car seats into the vehicle as well as two or three adults without any problems. Luggage will also fit into the back end of the SUV. When I test drove the vehicle I found that the handling on it was very good, and the ride was very smooth too. All in all I really enjoyed driving it and thought it would be an excellent fit for my family. I would ... (more)
Story
I drove my family across country for Christmas one year. We never made it. the weather turned bad and we were stuck in the Midwest staying at a hotel for Christmas.
Pros
My favorite feature is the large engine and power. I find that the truck has more then enough power to tow my fishing boat along with my entire family and our luggage when we are going on trips to the lake. This was a great advantage, because similarly categorized vehicles could not tow very much weight compared to the Sequoia. I also really liked the spacious interior. It has enough space for a family of five, along with your toys and gear too. I also enjoy the fuel economy. In a V8 engine, I am usually able to get about 18 miles per gallon on the highway. Most other V8 SUVs seem to get m... (more)
Cons
The main issues I had were with the engine problems that I had. mainly it had to do with sensors. One of the Oxygen sensors failed at around 51000 miles. I started to notice that the fuel consumption was higher then normal and the check engine light was on. I took it into a Toyota Dealership to fix it. It was not covered under warranty. Shortly after that I found out another on of the Oxygen sensors failed. This time it was at around 75000 miles. I had to pay for that again. The truck has been fine ever since. I just wish that they made these sensors last longer. I also wish that Toyota di... (more)
