2012 Volvo XC60 - GREAT CAR AND VALUE
This vehicle is hands down, best in class. First, it's a Volvo, so you know safety is a major consideration for me, but it looks beautiful. Also, price-wise, a this car competes (and wins at the price I bought new) with Nissan Muranos and similar cross-overs. Obtaining similar options on these other vehicles (with the "standards" of the Volvo), causes the competitors' price to exceed the Volvo. It is an amazing value.
Story
I remember surprising my wife with the new vehicle. She was ecstatic.
Pros
Safety - heck you're buying a Volvo! City Safety is standard. That piece of technology is amazing - this is the stuff you pay thousands for from the other manufacturers.
The SEATS! Yes, the seats. Volvo's leather seats are have no equal in the sub $50k range. Compare them to Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, etc. - you will find the Volvo is just more comfortable.
Cons
I know, it's a cross-over, but, I want rear wheel drive on any car that is not a sedan. You're not going to be doing a whole lot of towing in this car (although the engine has PLENTY of torque and horsepower to do it). The car is just not set up to pull a large boat.
2012 Volvo XC60 -
Nothing like Euro styling. Volvo leads the industry in safety innovations, and I have always felt safe driving my family in this car. Never had a major problem with the car in the eight years of ownership. The car is still going strong at 116,000 miles.
Story
This car is built for the highway and has been a super car for long road trips and my daily commute.
Pros
Leather seat interior and layout of the dash is very driver-centric. Everything is simplified and the same from Volvo to Volvo. I really liked the service department at the dealership. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of.
Cons
Service on the car was pricey, and I chose to have my car serviced by a certified Volvo specialist. I think this has paid off, though.
