2001 Audi A6 Owner Ratings & Reviews

2001 Audi A6 - 2001 A6 old school luxury
The 2001 Audi A6 (for our time) is an dated vehicle, but it still offers amazing luxury for a bargain price if you're willing to fix it up. The 2001 Audi A6 -- made famous by the Transporter action film series -- gives nice power and elegance for a pretty affordable price—along with having the reliability from Volkswagen in regards to engine power. The inside of the Audi is similar to the Jetta...making it much more powerful and offering more torque and turbo.
Story
I would say my most fun and most memorable moment would be on the highway, beating other cars and driving much faster than them.
Pros
The best pro of this car is easily its torque and power. It takes off very quickly.
Cons
Ironically, the worst part of this car is the effect of such a powerful V6 engine in 2001. We did not have the luxury of having such powerful V6 cars with very economical cost-efficient gas mileage. The cost for gas is quite high as the A6 is a gas guzzler! The transmission. Because it's a V6, it shifts aggressively in-between gears as opposed to having a smooth transition similar to what you might find with the Volkswagen Flat 6 design.
2001 Audi A6 - Great Family Car
I love the heated leather seats, power everything (windows. Seats) and the large trunk. The Audi gets great gas mileage for being a luxury turbo. It is on the larger side of a sedan and very roomy. The down side to owning the Audi has to be the cost of repair. Being a mechanic savvy guy, I work on the car myself which cuts cost of labor. But the parts themselves are expensive. There are not many German dealerships or mechanics in this area so general shops would have to order parts which also drives up the price.
Story
We did not have the car long and we drove the car to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for our wedding. (A rather long trip for us, as we live 5 hours away.) It was the first real trip we had ever taken together.
Pros
It has great Gas Mileage for being a luxury sedan. It is also very roomy, which is great for long trips. The leather seats which are great for clean up with my young son which is also a plus.
Cons
The cost of repair has to be the only real negative thing about the Audi for me. The parts are expensive since it is a German made car in the United States. If you can work on vehicles yourself, the cost decreases tremendously.
