I bought my A6 Avant (station wagon) as an Audi enthusiast. I chose it over the standard sedan because of the extra cargo room and general practicality that it offered. No dislikes before purchase.
Story
My favorite memory in this car was a 8-hour (one way, 16-hour total) road trip with 3 friends to Chicago for the annual auto show. Plenty of space and comfort to make the trip as pleasant as possible and the car, made for long and fast drives down the Autobahn, never felt stressed whatsoever cruising at 70+mph.
Pros
Especially with the rear seats down, there is more than enough cargo space to carry large items. Even small pieces of furniture will fit in to the large, automatically opening hatch. The A6 also maintains an above average (for the time and money) level of luxury. On top of its great build quality, my favorite features include front- and rear-heated seats, climate controls for the driver, passenger, and rear, and built-in navigation and Bluetooth. Finally, though, it's really more subjective. I do like owning such a unique car. I have only ever seen one more A6 Avant of this generation driv... (more)
Cons
Reliability, lack of overall performance, and difficult to work on. In terms of reliability, I have had one major problem that I later found out is inevitable with these cars. The timing chain tensioner, located at the back of the engine, will eventually go bad--usually around 130,000 to 160,000 miles. This requires a full engine-out repair which cost $5,000 at the dealer. On a similar note, general work in the engine bay can be difficult as everything is quite tightly packed in. Finally, with 256hp, I wouldn't mind if the car had a bit more power. What it has to offer is certainly more th... (more)

2006 Audi A6 - I have put over 25,000 miles on the car since I have owned it. I have had very few problems with it, and the comfort is unimaginable. I have been all up and down the east coast from New York to Florida, and it drives like a dream.

I have owned this vehicle for just under a year. It has treated me well in all aspects. The car is very comfortable, and there is virtually no wind noise. The V8 is very powerful, and I have no issues maneuvering in traffic. My car is loaded with all of the packages and creature comforts.
Story
The car is very fast and is fun to drive in the snow. The all-wheel drive system works very well with stabilizing the vehicle if the roads are too slick. Driving down deserted roads, I have gotten the car to 120 mph, and it feels like you are only going 60 mph.
Pros
All-wheel-drive, heated seats, sunroof, power windows, tire sensors, seat memory, rear sun shade, automatic wipers, adaptive headlights, fog lights, 340 hp, dual exhaust, keyless entry, valet mode, interior mood lighting, spacious trunk, etc.
Cons
Poor gas mileage and no music Bluetooth.
