Fun and Dependable Cruising
I own a silver 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser. I knew the moment I saw it that it was going to be mine and I couldn't have made a better choice. Especially for the price. I bought it used four years ago with 140,000 miles. The dealer had just purchased the car from auction and was not aware if the car was in need of maintenance, but I purchased it anyway. Best decision EVER. The five speed standard transmission shifted perfectly. The interior is leather and easily cleans up. The back seats are fold-able and/or removable to allow for more space. Although the back is really spacious for a compact car to begin with. I did not like having to take my rear-seat head rest off in order to see out of my rear view mirror, but it was a minute inconvenience and easily resolved.

The 2001 PT Cruiser is a sturdy car and a great first-timers car. With over 20,000 miles on it and climbing, I haven't had to do much engine maintenance. Yet the entire has started to show wear and tear. The dash has started to crack with the right side window covering falling off, and the seats have started to crack as well. The horn has failed on me, and the battery now only seems to last me about a year and a half before I have to replace it. I have had no issues though with any engine functions and make long drives every month knowing it will get me to where I need to go. I would watch out with the tires, due to them being chrome rims, when they begin to rust. It does causes major tire issues, but it is a simple fix. I travel a lot with my husband and dog, and although this car may seen small, it still gives the owner a great deal of space in the trunk area to fit everything one may need to carry with them.
