Overall satisfied
I purchased a 2002 PT Cruiser from a private seller when it had only 92,000 miles. When I first bought my car it ran really well, even being close to 100k miles. The gas mileage was great, close to 30mpg, which was amazing when gas prices were close to $4.00 per gallon. The only problems I ran into initially were with the electrical system. The dash cluster seemed to flash on and off for no reason. I never did get the chance to figure out why, but I later found out there was a recall that I had never known about before. I was highly satisfied with the way the car handled, however that satisfaction was diminished when I recently suffered an auto accident and the safety features failed me.

A fine car for a low budget.
My PT Cruiser served me well for several years. I bought the car for cash, paying 2,400 dollars. It had 123k miles when purchased on the engine. During the time I owned it, I had to replace the head gasket, which was expensive, but that was the only major repair required for the vehicle. I performed standard maintenance, and the car ran well. I used the car primarily for delivering pizzas, so it got a lot of mileage in the 3+ years I owned it. I also moved to another state while I owned it and moved back so it had a few long-distance trips under the hood during my ownership. I did have to have some minor exhaust work done as the pipe rusted out a little with a minor hole forming while I was living in Alabama. I was also in a minor accident due to someone hitting my car in a parking lot. It still ran well. Another minor repair I had done was replacing the ignition lock cylinder. All in all, I liked the car since I never expected it to be more than it was. It got me from point A to B without much fuss.
