2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Awful
I liked my car when I first saw it in the dealership. That all change as soon as I found out how much gas it uses. 12 Miles per gallon, that's how much gas my terrible car wastes. Almost everyone I know told me not to buy this car but I ignored them. My car also had bad brakes and the dealership refused to fix them. My car is red which I heard is the number one car police stop the most. There are not a lot of good things about my car. It still function pretty well but not great. The tires lasted a long time and the rims are extremely good looking. It's small so it's easy to clean. The hood has an awesome design and my bumpers are chrome which is unusual for a pt cruiser. It works well in winter and the air conditioning is great. It also still smells like the new car smell. Other than t... (more)
Story
My wife and I were at a park and when we decided to leave my keys were inside the car. We started to panic but the trunk of the pt was opened as she crawled to the front seats to retrieve the keys. We both laughed and found it amusing.
Pros
The best features in this car are the tires, chrome bumpers and good looking rims.
Cons
It wastes to much gas, it's to small have to constantly put Freon for the air conditioner to work. The paint is fading and the maker, dodge, is one of the worst in the world.
2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser - It gets the job done and is fun to drive.
Overall, I like the car. It runs well and that's saying something considering it has more than 160,000 miles on it. It's a bit noisy on at high speeds and when shifting (it's a manual), but that's minor. It feels fun to drive. Although it's kind of a ladies car, I feel like it's a sturdy vehicle that gets the job done when it comes to dependability and drivability.
Story
I had some great beach trips in the PT. My wife and I would go to the beach at night and sit and listen to music. Very nice.
Pros
I really like the pick up and maneuverability. Also, I like that it has a hatch back for storage. It's a compact car, but it has a lot room for passengers and other stuff. Being able to fit 4-5 people in it comfortably is awesome. Overall, it's fun to drive to places like the beach but also is professional enough for everyday driving (it's not a Jeep Wrangler). It also get amazing gas mileage.
Cons
I really don't like the road noise when going at high speeds and when shifting. As a guy, I feel like the PT is a bit of a girl's car. I feel like it's not the most masculine vehicle. It has had some mechanical issues that might not crop up on other vehicles. I haven't had to replace anything major yet, but things like the oil pan gasket (which is a cheap part but expensive in labor) have been a bit costly.
