I am a Dodge person and have been for a very long time. I fell in love with the early Durangos and had an off the Showroom model year 2000 in bright read as soon as I could! this was the SLT 4x4 with all the trim, third row seat, all leather, etc. Well here we are in 2014 and I have purchased my 4th Durango. They just keep getting better. They have a sleek almost aggressive look that I love. No cute bubbly, artsy design. A real good looking truck with real capabilities. As usual the outside is gorgeous with perfectly placed trim and an aggressive stand out style. The truck is appropriate size for every day use. Not a huge bus nor a tiny girly wanna be truck. It stands high enough to be where ,you want to be but not so high you need a ladder to get in and out. The rear hatch is wonde... (more)
Story
I have so many fun family memories in our Durangos. They are extremely versatile for both work and play. I think one of my fondest memories was when my neighbor decided to move a 38' deep V fishing vessel out of his back yard and move it to the front drive so an appropriate truck could haul it. The boat and trailer exceeding any and all specs for what I would normally pull on the open road b... (more)
Pros
This truck has one of the most powerful v8 engines in its class while remaining very fuel efficient considering its power. The Durango SLT is just the right size, right in the middle of WAY too big and too small to be practical. The third row seat is very convenient but just as importantly easy to hide when not needed to increase the storage capacity. Size in general is wonderful for this vehicle. Plenty of leg room, plenty of seating capacity (7) and adjustable storage capability with hide-able third row bench seat and 40/60 split fold-able rear seats. The SLT option comes with a premium ... Cons
Although there aren't a lot of things I can say negatively about this vehicle, no vehicle is perfect. Certainly, gas mileage is an issue. However, this is a large v8 engine so I get what I expect when purchasing such a vehicle. The rear seats don't truly fold completely flat (we found this out on a rainy camping trip when we decided to put the air mattress in the back of the truck instead of the kids sleeping in a tent) but flat enough for practical purposes. The stock tires on this vehicle seem to wear quicker than I am used to and they aren't cheap, but neither are any other quality tire... (more)
