The 2014 Dodge Dart is an excellent choice for people looking for a reasonably priced car with good gas mileage. But also provides something unique and different than your Prius or Fit. Yes it doesn't get as good gas mileage as either one of these cars mentioned, but I am averaging about 30-35 mpg. And I get something in return that the other cars do not offer. That return is engine performance and looks for the Dodge Dart. My 2.4 Liter motor has a healthy 180 HP and plenty of response to the throttle when you need it. I drove many other cars in my Dart's sales category when trying to decide on a new car and the Dodge Dart by far had the best performance and throttle response. You do have to get the 2.4 Liter in order to maximize your performance, though, when looking at the Dart. Last... (more)

You really have to build your Dodge Dart to get the car looking very good. The base model offers relatively nothing. There are so many trims on the Dart it was hard for me to narrow down what each package offers.

I love the sleek styling of the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The interior is even more beautiful. For a 2.4L four-cylinder, Dodge did a superb job tuning the exhaust notes of the vehicle. It is truly a beautiful car offering the best of American and Italian auto-design, thanks to Chrysler's partnership with Fiat (FCA). However, all of these wonderful things are soon forgotten when you actually drive the vehicle. The manual transmission is faulty, and FCA even has a class action lawsuit against it for the defect. The vehicle is also severely lacking in power. FCA should have never given the vehicle a GT trim with its less than stellar performance. My 2.4L 2004 Dodge Neon was faster than the Dart.
Story
My favorite thing about the Dart is its excellent ability to corner. Although the engine is lacking in HP, it is still fun to drive.
Pros
The 2013 Dodge Dart GT has unparalleled interior craftsmanship, design, and materials compared to other cars in its class and price-range. It is full of soft-touch surfaces and beautifully upholstered with Nappa leather seats, leather trimmed dashboard, and a leather wrapped steering wheel. The interior lighting is very sleek, especially at night. I also very much enjoy the large 8.4 inch touch screen. Compared to its domestic competitors, the Dart also has the most simplistic, intuitive, and powerful controls for the climate and stereo systems. The GT suspension makes it very fun to ... (more)
Cons
The vehicle is not mechanically sound or safe to drive. I had to have the manual transmission replaced very early on. The flywheel, clutch, and hydraulic slave cylinder were all damaged and failed at 30k miles. The slave cylinder had to be replaced a second time no less than 5k miles after the initial repair. The dealership confirmed this was not due to my driving. The parts sourced for this vehicle's transmission are defective and FCA is doing very little to address the problem. FCA recently announced they are going to stop production of the Dodge Dart and the Chrysler 200, so I ass... (more)

I bought this car brand new from the dealership. I bought it from a Dodge/Jeep dealership. I loved everything about this vehicle when I first saw it. I more or less fell in love with the dart. It is decked out with power windows, sunroof, backup camera, gps screen, and many other very good features.
Story
I took the car to the grand canyon on my trip across country and nearly ended up driving into the canyon, if it were not for my wife I would have not stopped.
Pros
The dash entertainment system is very awesome. You can do quite a bit on there. The GPS built into the car is top of the line. I used it to navigate across the country a year ago, even not being fully up to date on the maps software it still helped out greatly. Another favorite feature of mine is the rear backup camera. This thing does a great job of helping me not back into others when pulling out of the parking lots.
Cons
I have only had a few negative things about this car. One being how low to the ground it lies. I constantly bind up with driveways that are on a hill. Also, in parking lots it's low enough to the ground where you hit the concrete barriers if you are not paying attention. I loved the back up camera, up until one day it quit working on me a few months ago. Take it I have 70k plus miles on the vehicle, but to me I am not sure that the backup camera should have quit working this early...
