I have owned my Dodge Nitro for 5 months now and it is an amazing beast. I gets great gas mileage. We have been averaging 17-19 miles per gallon city and 20-23 miles per gallon highway. It is a V-6 but for how heavy the SUV is, it does not have any issues getting up to speed. The interior is cloth, which my husband used to hate, but it is a very good quality. It has a mesh design that seems to really be easy to keep clean. The front section of it is very roomy. There is a lot of storage space in the console to put anything you would like in it. It is about 8-9 inches deep, so trust me anything fits. The two front seats have a wonderful lumbar support that really keeps your back relaxed as you drive. With two children under 4, I have cleanly of room in the back seat to put two very bulk... (more)
Story
We hit lots of big mud puddles one we put our big beefy tires on it.
Pros
So Much Space!
Cons
Not enough ports to charge electronics.

I love the 2007 Dodge Nitro. I find this car to be very safe and dependable. It seats five, which is perfect for the sports carpool and nights out with friends. The four wheel drive has helped me out several times.
Story
Helping friends tow their car out of the snow a few years ago.
Pros
The four wheel drive feature is great. I enjoy the radio's functions and the optional aux adapter. I was in an accident where I hydroplaned into a large ditch. The Nitro was towed out and I drove it off. No harm done. Very dependable vehicle.
Cons
The only con I have is that I bought the stripped down model. Some of the interior is falling apart (plastic on the side of the seat). Other than that, I really do not have any cons with this vehicle. I love my nitro.

I purchased my Nitro from the dealership new. It drove well, had a ton of room for camping/fishing gear and my dog. Though slightly out of my price range, it was much cheaper than the Jeep I really had my heart set on. It also looked similar.
Story
My husband and I were driving over a snowy pass and had just purchased chains in case we needed them. We did not practice putting them on, and we're stuck in the snow trying to put them on. Luckily, the Nitro kept me warm for over an hour while the chains and my husband were fighting one another.
Pros
This vehicle is dependable. It has a tight turning radius and is extremely comfortable.
Cons
MPG is around 15-17, which isn't ideal. Since I began to lease the Nitro, it has received eight individual recalls.
