We purchased our Dodge Ram 3500 diesel truck, and I think it was one of the best purchases we have ever made. This truck is large enough inside for five adults or two adults and three full car seats, which is unusual for any vehicle except minivans. Even with all that space inside, it does not feel like a "truck." It feels like a regular car. The seats are comfortable and normal interior space. I especially love that as a short (under 5 foot) woman, I feel confident in driving this truck without issues. We have taken this truck on four major road trips, and it has been perfect for our family of five.
Story
We were driving from Central Florida to Virginia and since it was at night, our kids were sleeping in the back seat and we were stopped getting fuel. I turned around because I heard the back window open. There was one child climbing through the window, because their siblings would not move so they could get out to use the restroom.
Pros
There is a long list of pros when it comes to the truck. Lets see, first I love that the peddles are adjustable and move closer to the driver seat. This is a major win when you have short legs. I love that the seat is adjustable, front/back, up/down, the backrest is adjustable as well and there is an adjustable lumbar support, which is awesome after a long day of driving across the country. I love that there is storage under the back seat, not much but enough for a few small things. The two storage compartments in the floor of the backseat are perfect to use as mini coolers for drinks f... (more)
Cons
Now even with all the good things going for this truck, there are a few downfalls. One issue I have had is finding people willing to work on diesel engines, even at the dealership. But for some people, that is not a big deal. I hate that the fuel efficiency is so poor in regular traffic, it can be an issue if you do a lot of city driving. Another downside is that the truck doesn't fit into a standard garage. You need to have one with a higher roof and longer length. Costs of repairs are nearly twice the cost of a regular truck, which isn't cheap. The truck doesn't make tight turns and... (more)

I think it's one of the best looking trucks on the road. It has style inside and out. The body is beautiful in my opinion and it makes no noises or unidentifiable sounds even after putting almost 40,000 miles on it. It is a manual shift diesel powered Cummins and I've never had a problem with any of the running components. Besides usual maintenance I have yet to have to fix any parts on the truck. I use it often as a hauler for a horse trailer and RV and it works great in all situations. I had a different truck prior to this one and I'd never go back. This truck runs great, sounds great, looks great, I have no complaints at all. The interior is leather and beautiful, holding up exceptionally well to my co-pilot Great Dane that goes with me everywhere. No electronic problems either, my ... (more)
Story
I have fun in this truck every time I drive it. It pulls and runs like a champ on highways but at the same time I have folded in the mirrors and done some serious off roading in this giant beast. It's been given mud baths more than any truck I know and it comes through it all in stride.
Pros
I love that its a manual transmission. The power behind the Cummins diesel motor is exceptional. This truck tows without any hesitation some of the biggest and heaviest loads I've ever had to deal with. The interior is great and a lot more stylish than some of the other trucks I looked at. It's comfortable and durable, stands up to everything I throw at it.
Cons
The only big con is the gas mileage, it is a diesel and I use it for its intended purpose, so it does go through a lot of fuel, but if you need a vehicle for work purposes and it has to tow and still get around town, this is the one.

Even though the truck is older, it's been one of the best purchases we have made. It is used to tow our camper and trailers. It's a standard and has lots of power. It's comfortable and runs like it was just made. The motor purrs like a kitten, and it doesn't lag down while towing. The truck gets great fuel mileage, and we've made plenty trips in it.
Story
Making all of the ATV trips and going to the lake. We have taken lots of trips farther off where we take our camper, and we have made many memories with family and friends. The truck has been reliable and lets us make lots of good memories and hopefully memories that our child will hold dear to him.
Pros
Great towing power, and it gets great fuel mileage. It takes long trips like a pro and doesn't have to stop for breaks or more fuel all the time. It pulls our stuff like nothing is behind it and doesn't hesitate going up hills or with a full load. The body style is also pleasing to the eye, and the paint has lasted with minor damages from being outside.
Cons
The top negative thing would be that the stereo system isn't that great and has had problems. We replaced it with an after market one. The tail gate also didn't last, even though it was well taken care of. I think it had a flaw in it from the beginning. Otherwise, there really isn't anything to say bad. And those things I did name, weren't deal breakers as they can be fixed or replaced like we did.
