We purchased our Dodge Ram 3500 diesel truck, and I think it was one of the best purchases we have ever made. This truck is large enough inside for five adults or two adults and three full car seats, which is unusual for any vehicle except minivans. Even with all that space inside, it does not feel like a "truck." It feels like a regular car. The seats are comfortable and normal interior space. I especially love that as a short (under 5 foot) woman, I feel confident in driving this truck without issues. We have taken this truck on four major road trips, and it has been perfect for our family of five.
Story
We were driving from Central Florida to Virginia and since it was at night, our kids were sleeping in the back seat and we were stopped getting fuel. I turned around because I heard the back window open. There was one child climbing through the window, because their siblings would not move so they could get out to use the restroom.
Pros
There is a long list of pros when it comes to the truck. Lets see, first I love that the peddles are adjustable and move closer to the driver seat. This is a major win when you have short legs. I love that the seat is adjustable, front/back, up/down, the backrest is adjustable as well and there is an adjustable lumbar support, which is awesome after a long day of driving across the country. I love that there is storage under the back seat, not much but enough for a few small things. The two storage compartments in the floor of the backseat are perfect to use as mini coolers for drinks f... (more)
Cons
Now even with all the good things going for this truck, there are a few downfalls. One issue I have had is finding people willing to work on diesel engines, even at the dealership. But for some people, that is not a big deal. I hate that the fuel efficiency is so poor in regular traffic, it can be an issue if you do a lot of city driving. Another downside is that the truck doesn't fit into a standard garage. You need to have one with a higher roof and longer length. Costs of repairs are nearly twice the cost of a regular truck, which isn't cheap. The truck doesn't make tight turns and... (more)

I think it's one of the best looking trucks on the road. It has style inside and out. The body is beautiful in my opinion and it makes no noises or unidentifiable sounds even after putting almost 40,000 miles on it. It is a manual shift diesel powered Cummins and I've never had a problem with any of the running components. Besides usual maintenance I have yet to have to fix any parts on the truck. I use it often as a hauler for a horse trailer and RV and it works great in all situations. I had a different truck prior to this one and I'd never go back. This truck runs great, sounds great, looks great, I have no complaints at all. The interior is leather and beautiful, holding up exceptionally well to my co-pilot Great Dane that goes with me everywhere. No electronic problems either, my ... (more)
Story
I have fun in this truck every time I drive it. It pulls and runs like a champ on highways but at the same time I have folded in the mirrors and done some serious off roading in this giant beast. It's been given mud baths more than any truck I know and it comes through it all in stride.
Pros
I love that its a manual transmission. The power behind the Cummins diesel motor is exceptional. This truck tows without any hesitation some of the biggest and heaviest loads I've ever had to deal with. The interior is great and a lot more stylish than some of the other trucks I looked at. It's comfortable and durable, stands up to everything I throw at it.
Cons
The only big con is the gas mileage, it is a diesel and I use it for its intended purpose, so it does go through a lot of fuel, but if you need a vehicle for work purposes and it has to tow and still get around town, this is the one.

After spending my life driving economy or mid-size cars, my husband convinced me to get a truck. It was supposed to be a family vehicle, but I've become the primary driver. Honestly, it's so big, I was afraid to drive it initially, but it didn't take long to become accustomed to driving it. We have moved from the city to a mountain ski resort town, and it's perfect for where we live. I'm a seasoned pro with driving our Laramie, and I now wonder why it took me so long to buy a truck. As an added bonus, I now feel very much a part of the fan base when I go to country music concerts!
Story
We were driving our Ram late at night on a major, yet not crowded road in our town and noticed a young bear running next to our truck. He looked at us and stopped running, turned around and dove back into the forest. We live in Big Bear Lake, and it was our first bear sighting!
Pros
I love the features, such as the heated/air-conditioned seats, heated steering wheel and amazing sound system. The visibility is excellent, and I feel very safe with all of the features like the blind-side sensors and back-up camera. The car is very roomy, both in the front and in the back seats. The kids love it. I feel safe driving it on freeways and in weather conditions, like snow. I never thought that I'd need a truck bed, but it has come in handy many times. The ride is very smooth, and I've noticed that when people see a big truck, they tend to move out of your way.
Cons
It's big, so it is occasionally difficult to park. I feel uncomfortable when I try driving it in the city, especially older parts of town, like Hollywood, which has some narrow streets. More than once, it has been too tall to meet the clearance in an older parking structure, so that was a hassle. The fuel consumption is high, so it's expensive.
