2007 Dodge Ram Pickup 3500 - Excellent All Around Truck
We went with the mega cab single rear tire 2007 6.7 Cummins model of the Dodge Ram 3500.
Story
We have used the truck to tow several pieces of farm equipment when they got stuck in the mud! The amp appears to be going out in right now. It will plays a CD for a few minutes and then goes to static like a radio would when out of range. We have not taken it in for replacement of it yet.
Pros
The extra space in the cab is fantastic for the kids as it eliminates them kicking the back of your chair. It comes with a built in DVD player and excellent sound system. Leather seats throughout with heated driver and passenger seats are fantastic. The truck has more power/towing capacity than you could possibly need. It is durable and rugged enough for the farm we live on and the livestock/equipment we have needed to haul. The turbo is nice to have especially when using the tow option. Exhaust breaks are very helpful when hauling anything as well. Lots of space and storage behind the seat.
Cons
As most diesels are the truck is very loud and the mileage especially when towing is not fantastic (14mpg when hauling trailer and horse). In the winter the truck takes a long time to warm up. Oil changes for diesels are VERY expensive compared to gas burning trucks.
2007 Dodge Ram Pickup 3500 - lemon
This is a huge truck. It uses diesel so it gets really bad gas mileage. It is noisy, but not anymore than any other diesel truck. The cab is very roomy. There is lots of leg room. Very comfortable for two, but no more than two. This truck is a manual transmission and it is really hard to drive.
Story
It was a nice ride to a vacation spot. Very comfortable inside the cab.
Pros
There is a lot of room in the cab. The heater works really real. It heats up the cab really fast. It has a great sound system for radio or CDs.
Cons
Terrible gas mileage. Noisy. Can feel all the bumps. In the shop a lot. This truck is a manual shift and very hard to put into reverse.
