I know this model has had known issues with engine sludge and issues dying around 100k total mileage, but I have owned this car for over 10 years. The body style is still in fashion and it has held together for a long time considering my insane driving. I owned it from my early 20s to my mid 30s and it still suits all my needs. It was spacious and comfortable enough to move me across country. Its leather seats are great for cleanup when the kids destroy the backseat with sticky things and some things that aren't even meant to be sticky. The trunk space is fantastic. I also feel pretty safe in the vehicle during long drives because it is built solid. I am not so happy to drive in snow and ice but the weight of the car keeps me grounded, sorry for the pun. Gas mileage across country was ... (more)
Story
Well, evidently this car is heavy enough to do snow donuts in an empty Wal-Mart parking lot. Even with front wheel drive. We thought it was fun. The cop watching didn't. It was also super comfortable riding across country.
Pros
Built strong, I feel safe it won't fold in on me if I unfortunately get into an accident. I love that it is so spacious inside as well as in the trunk. I test drove a few cars recently and the only vehicles that compared to the power and pick up of this car were SUVs. The gas mileage is average to awesome depending on the distance. Leather seats are fantastic for kids due to cleanup. Repairs generally haven't been too expensive. On Board Diagnostics is a fantastic feature. I do not have to go anywhere to get my codes read, all I do is turn to accessory three times and read my own code.
Cons
Rumors of engine sludge. I did have to replace the transmission at 76k miles but that is up in the air if I really had to considering the mechanic I took it to. The engine pretty much has to be lifted out to replace different parts. The battery is a pain to replace due to having to take off the passenger wheel and wall to get to it. And the leather seats do have a downside if you are wearing shorts or a skirt in the winter OR the summer. Especially the summer.

This car fits me well! It seats six which comes in handy at times. The back seats fold down, which they don't in my husbands Chevy, and that makes it very handy for trips to get a couple pieces of lumber from the hardware store without having to take the gas-guzzling truck. Gas mileage seems wonderful, even though I don't have to drive much, it's nice not to have to stop at the gas station as often as I did with the truck. The children love having the center of the backseat fold down for cup holders.
Story
I use this vehicle as my truck now. I can fit about 12 2x4s from the trunk to the back seat with them folded down, and I still have room to spare!
Pros
Nice comfortable ride. It is very spacious with a lot of seating. Powered windows and seats. It gets great gas mileage. It has a large spacious trunk, and the back seats fold down so that is a big help for storage. The rear window defrost has come in handy quite a bit, and we haven't even hit winter yet. Seems like a very reliable ride. I don't feel like I ever have to worry about it breaking down with regular maintenance. The price we paid for this was insane, $300 at auction for a totally reliable clean car. Couldn't be happier!
Cons
This reminds me a lot of my old Chrysler 300 in the fact that it does not get up and go, especially when you're needing to pass someone going way to slow. My only other annoyance would be the fact that you have to slam the doors to get them shut. They just don't latch very easy.
