When looking at a sea of sedans, everyone wants that one car that sticks out and calls to them. For me, it was the Mitsubishi Lancer. It has a unique shape that makes it darn near "cute." It is certainly a youthful vehicle. It got me through college and is still grooving eight years after that. The trunk is large and the back seat comes down for easy cargo space. The car is roomy and comfortably fits five people. As for comfort in general, you'll love it just fine if you can live without the bells and whistles. It has a great ac/heat and typical entertainment qualities. It is a 2003, so don't be thinking you can plug in your iPod without a few modifications. The car is built like a rally car and picks up speed really fast. It feels light but I still feel safe in it. It has four doors a... (more)
Story
I spent hours upon hours driving to and from college. I lived about an hour and twenty minutes away. I managed to get a large selection of music on an FM transmitter and so I spent many, many, many hours driving in my car, listening to awesome music. It was quite pleasant. Those are seemingly boring, but my best memories in my car.
Pros
The car is big enough to make you feel safe and yet small enough to not feel like a bulky car falling out of the lanes. It is the perfect size for a lone commuter or family. I bought my car in 2006. As of 2014, it has only not started on me twice, both because the battery was drained. I've kept good maintenance, of course, but everyone should do that. I have found my Lancer to be completely reliable. It is a car that has ample space for all, be the passenger in the front seat or back. Everything is adjustable. I love my car.
Cons
The con off the top of my head is a problem I had with the Mitsubishi I owned before the Lancer. The sealants long the trunk and doors deteriorate and moisture can leak into the car. This is a problem in the trunk. You cannot put things in there and expect them to stay perfectly dry, at least down here in the South. Up front, this causes the windows to fog from the inside sometimes. It is something I learned to deal with, though may be the reason I try a new brand eventually. Also, in the 2003 model, the temperature knob on the dash is a factory recalled piece. Because it is not directly e... (more)

I have had this car for about 3 years. When I purchased the car it had about 130,000 miles on it. I have put roughly 30,000 miles on it since then, and it is more than 10 years old and still going strong. Since I have owned it I have not had to fix anything on the vehicle. It is a nice blue color with no rust so far. Thankfully the car has power windows so that is a big plus. The only maintenance I have had to do are the regular oil changes. I am expecting this car to run for more than 200,000 miles. I have taken this car on many trips and have had no problems at all. The unfortunate down side to taking this car on long trips is it does not have cruise control. So going on a trip for greater than 2 hours is pretty hard, but other than that there are no problems taking this car on a lon... (more)
Story
I just love driving around with my kids in this car
Pros
This little car has been such a great investment. I have only had to do minimal maintenance like oil changes!
Cons
This car has no cruise control in it. Long trips are hard in this vehicle. Since it is an older car, there are no aux chords to hook up a phone or a music player. The car is also pretty loud when starting up and loud while driving.
