Overall, this has been a really wonderful vehicle for us. It is an extremely attractive car, and we get lots of compliments about the appearance. It is a manual transmission and shifts gears like a dream - very smooth and easy. It is a very fun car to drive, and I can see how the higher end models are used in street racing. It has a nice turn radius and can make three-point turns with ease. We have owned the car for almost five years, and the only maintenance we have had to do is the regular oil changes; there have been no weird noises, idling problems, or anything of that nature. It has the best fuel economy of any car I have previously owned. The upholstery is dark and easy to clean and the seats are very comfortable.
Story
One night after leaving the grocery store, my husband saw a group of men standing around the car. One might get nervous about that sort of situation, but they were merely standing there admiring the car and told my husband what an attractive car it was.
Pros
One of my favorite features about the Lancer is the high visibility the driver has. I'm always very paranoid about passing, switching lanes, etc., and with the large windows (especially the rear window) and the nice side view mirrors, I have never had an issue. I like how easy it is to open the trunk; you can do it with one hand and it doesn't take a lot of force. Another great feature about the trunk is that even when it is popped it doesn't fly open - you have to pull it up to get it moving. Cons
Realistically, the only negative thing about this car is that it is a compact vehicle : aka, on the smaller side. We have two children now and the car is maxed out on space. If we want to take a trip, even for the weekend, we have a hard time getting all of our belongings to fit - even when utilizing the trunk. A stroller in the trunk takes up over half of the space. It works great with one child, but the second number two rolls around it becomes too small.

I love my Lancer. In fact, I named her Shalissa. Before this car I was driving a SUV, so it was a big difference going from a SUV to a smaller car. I am extremely impressed by the gas tank size. In my old SUV, I had to fill up my gas tank once or twice a week. Driving the same distance in my Lancer, I only have to fill up once every week and a half. Sometimes I can make my gas tank last two weeks! I have saved a lot of money on gas.
Story
I am huge on music festivals! I have had many road trips driving to Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival in Orlando, and Buku in NOLA. Driving to all these festivals with my best friends have been some of the best memories of my life.
Pros
As mentioned before, I love how long my gas tank will last me. In addition to the gas tank, I am impressed with how well the sound system has kept up. As someone who is a heavy bass head, the fact that I have driven almost 150,000 miles and have never blown out a speaker is unheard of! My old SUV I had for half of the mileage and blew out at least one speaker twice!
