I love my base model manual Lancer. The interior is black and easy to keep clean. The car runs great and gets great gas mileage (33 mpg on highway). I have had no mechanical issues in my 5 years of owning this car. I have driven this car from Illinois to California and California to Illinois and it performed wonderfully. I have just over 55,000 miles and only had to do required maintenance.
Story
When I was looking for a wedding venue I had my nieces with me. We were driving on the expressway to a venue and one of my nieces got car sick and threw up all over the back seat. We had to pull over and clean it as best as we could and then continued to the venue. We saw the venue it was beautiful and then we took the car to get professionally cleaned. Came out good as new and the venue was t... (more)
Pros
I love that this car is manual. I enjoy driving manual cars and I love the added control I have over the vehicle. The trunk is surprisingly big and can fit lots of boxes for moving across the country! I picked the blue color of the car and it is still a very sharp looking color even 5 years later. I have no rust or any big paint issues. I love the dashboard features, it tells you if a door or the trunk is left open, when you need required maintenance, how many mpg, how many miles you have left in your gas tank and much more.
Cons
The stereo does not get very loud. In order to hear the radio at all, it must be at 20 or higher and it caps out at 45. I wish the back windows were tinted, it gets rather bright in the back seat because of the angle of the windows. The back doors are hard to close, you have to use some force to make sure they are closed all the way.

I personally like how sporty the car is visually. I also enjoy how upkeep and maintenance is inexpensive compared to other vehicles. It is very comparable to the Honda Civic, but it doesn't feel very high quality or heavy. The doors and paneling are light and seem kind of cheap. The interior is bare minimum. The car has many modern features for a 2012 vehicle. It comes with Bluetooth and keyless entry, to name a few. It has a Eco mode and a fuel-usage gauge. The display is digital, but it is extremely small and simple. Maintaining the vehicle is cheap for the sporty look, and the ride feels more sporty than a Civic, it also has decent horse power for comparable cars. The car is very reliable. I have had no issues with it not starting and malfunctioning while driving. The gas mileage is... (more)
Story
People trying to race me when I am stopped at lights because the car looks so similar to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo.
Pros
The sporty look, with the alloy wheels, exhaust, and the spoiler. Low maintenance costs. Gas mileage and fuel efficiency. The modern features add value to the interior. The reliability of the vehicle.
Cons
Light, cheap feel.
