This is our family car. We take the kids out and run errands. The best thing about it is that it is spacious. Large truck that also has third row seating. That is about it. Fuel economy, power, and maintenance are all a nuisance.
Story
This is a good road trip car. It does well on the highway. We recently bought kayaks and went on a family road trip to Bear lake where we took the kids out on the water for the first time. It was a wonderful experience.
Pros
My wife runs a day care, and this vehicle is listed under her business insurance. We make frequent trips to Costco for food and supplies, and it can hold everything, even if we go to a regular grocery store at the same time. It also houses third row seating, which is perfect for taking our kids—plus the daycare kids on outings, such as to the park or aquarium. We can haul all the kids and still fit some necessities in what is left of the trunk space. Also, it is a nice-looking car. It looks like a big hatchback, and I love hatchbacks. Rather than some SUV that are little more on the miniva... (more)
Cons
This vehicle only has a four-cylinder engine, no four-wheel drive, only front wheel, and the Mitsubishi dealership is a nightmare to work with when doing maintenance. We live in Utah and are ten minutes away from the mountains. We also live an active lifestyle and this car, when compared to similar vehicles in its class, can not do what we need it to. With the under-powered engine, we have to take my Volkswagen to get to the trails we like, because it simply will not make it up the hills, and these are not even very steep or difficult. This limits us on what we can take, and we miss out on... (more)

2009 Mitsubishi Outlander - Solid Car, Little Complaints

The vehicle I'm reviewing is a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander. In terms of driving, it has been a solid car. Acceleration is decent and it reaches freeway speeds without too much effort. Breaking is good, not too sensitivity but not too unresponsive either. There has never been any major malfunctions or issues that would jeopardize safety. Luckily, I have never been in an accident with it so I cannot comment on its safety.
Story
Some of the funnest memories with this vehicle involved camping. It was great for loading up a ton of things in. Tailgating from the trunk was great and it even came with a small fold-able table that conveniently fits at the bottom of the trunk.
Pros
It is a fairly heavy car but does not suck up too much gas. A full tank usually lasts for over 300 miles, and there is a feature that shows how many miles you have left until you need to re-fill. The car in general is roomy, and the trunk space is large enough to fit quite a few things (especially useful when moving to a new apartment).
Cons
There are a few negative things to mention, as this car is not completely perfect. Living in a hot climate, I find the air conditioner can be a tad cooler and the fan can blow a bit harder. It tends to take a while for the car to cool down after it has been sitting in the sun all day. I'm sure I could have added this feature, but I wish it came standard with a auxiliary jack to plug in an IPhone.
