I did buy the Mitsubishi Outlander and am very pleased with it. I am use to driving sport cars and was very pleased with the power and performance of this SUV. The SUV is offered in three levels and I would recommend that you purchase the mid or top level unit.

Dependable
If you are looking for a car that gets great gas mileage and is dependable, this is the car for you. I love my Outlander, because it saves me so much money in gas. I had a Charger that I used as a trade in on this car and was initially upset about getting ride of the Charger. But after seeing my savings in gas, I am no longer upset. The Outlander is a great vehicle to take trips in, because it is very comfortable and has a good size area in the back for storage. The only negative thing I have to say about the Outlander is the location of the lever to open the gas tank. The lever is located on the floorboard on the drivers' side. The location makes it extremely difficult to open the gas tank until you open the door and stick your feet out. I would really like to open the gas tank before having to get out of the car to do it.

Safe, Spacious, and Fuel-efficient
I bought a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander after losing my old car to a blizzard. I picked it for its numerous safety features and how well it handled. I had my fiancé along for the test drive and he said that I seemed to be a much more confident driver than I was in my old sedan. The 2014 Outlander was the last year in which Mitsubishi used the copper color, which is a brilliant orange in the sunlight and a warm brown in low light. There is a decal that stretches from tail light to tail light and it's reflective, so I feel like other drivers are more likely to notice the car at night. It is a very smooth ride, and has a ton of cargo space. Mine came with a factory installed hitch for towing. The hitch on its own was the 2" variety, but a ball hitch extension was included, which I really like. Plus, the hauling capacity is a good 1,500 pounds. I love to use the Eco Mode and AWC Eco settings to maximize fuel efficiency. I average 30 miles per gallon going 70 miles an hour on the interstates, whether it's windy or calm.
